Great video and channel! You are correct Sir, "it" happens in all shops. Thank you for putting your experience out there!😉

So glad you kept to the "Queen's English" and didn't have to revert to any "Anglo Saxon vernacular !"

I actually love my little Bosch router. I made a much larger bottom plate out of thick clear plastic so it gives me a much more stable base even on smaller parts. I get my clear plastic from Tap Plastics. They have a scrap bin where things are pennies on the dollar. Obviously this only works if you have a retail location near you. Great video, thanks TPL.

“If all goes awry, I promise I will turn off the camera before the swearing starts” … maybe that’s why my camera is never turned on! 😂

I will confess that there's a lot of unseen video on my shop floor. "Feces occurs" in EVERY shop.

5:00 stumpy nubs very recently made a video on a saw he made himself, like an oldskool one. It was pretty convincing, highly recommend

I saw his saw. It's an ancient tool and one that everyone should make. I wonder why I haven't.

yeah my thoughts exactly, especially because you collect all that junk for it haha@@thepragmaticluthier

Great video as usual. One of the things I always wonder when doing similar operations on the laminate router, is which speed to put it on. I just put it to 4-5 somewhere in the middle.
@thepragmaticluthier10 ай бұрын
My opinion on that is; "don't all that speed just because you have it". Most of the time, you don't need it to get excellent results and you can probably maintain a little better control over the router.

Obviously you can select the headpiece shape after you've built the body - but in your design process, do you tend to have a headpiece shape in mind for a particular body shape when you create that body shape? Really practical video, Kevin. Thank you for sharing.

The headpiece shape is always chosen before construction of the guitar begins. My choice is based solely on aesthetics. Sometimes my own headpiece design looks a little flashy on an otherwise conservative design, sort of like expensive alloy wheel on a Yugo.

?! what's happening around 11:17>>11:28-ish where that horizontally-oriented Knob on the Router Base is changing directions?!?
@thepragmaticluthier10 ай бұрын
It's a knob used to hold an edge guide to the base. It was loose and rotating with vibration.

We used to call it upper management tape - you know two faced.

I like that! And sometimes it turns out to be just as trustworthy too.
