In this video I discuss the various sanding tools and techniques I use for my scroll saw woodworking projects. Primarily intended for intarsia woodworking, these techniques can be used for segmentation or other projects as well.

Nicely paced and very informative presentation. The Carver/Grinder is yet another tool I have to add to my wish list.

Thanks for watching. I think it's great for roughing in shapes and detail work. Between burrs, sanding mops, sanding drums, and diamond bits you can do a lot with it and it doesn't get hot like the smaller rotary tools I've used.

Very informative, I also have just gone into Intarsia, I have been scrolling for some six years now, and think I have the skill leval to move up to this next level. I intend to use Pine & paint, then I intend to start using different coloured woods. Thank you for the video, very much appreciated. Roy in Australia.

Do you pack spacers , to raise pieces up. Wood carving can also help. Too much sanding, may lead too plastic artwork

Have you tried using one of those inflatable drum sanders? You can get one for the drill press fairly inexpensively. I enjoyed seeing your techniques for the other sanders. Thanks for the informative video.

very informative, and a couple of your suggestions I hadn`t even considerd but I will now. My problem is I only have a smallish shed (10ft L x 8ft w) so I`m getting more & more limited in what I can add otherwise I`ll be climbing over tools . Plus,I have two cats that live in there also ,and They keep complaining about the space in there diminishing all the time .LoL

There are always more tools to consider! I find myself reducing the selection as I get further into my craft.

Great video, thank you. Where do you get your bits for the Harbor Freight grinder & the sanding mops?

I got the set of carbide burrs from Amazon, diamond bits from Peachtree woodworking supply, and sanding drums from Amazon

Cool video I just made a sign but didn’t know it was called that!

Could be intarsia or segmentation depending on how you select and cut the wood. Shaping techniques are pretty much the same. Did you make it on the scroll saw? Thanks for watching!

What is your source for sanding mops?

The wood river ones from woodcraft seem to work well and aren't terribly expensive. I think you can also find them on Amazon.

Scroll saw vs Cnc machine? I find a lot of creators over investing in Cnc machines when they could do the same with a big fraction of the money.
