@MottiShneor2 ай бұрын
It is a shame - but it became such a BRAVE THING TO DO. I mean, thinking for yourself, making your own judgment, and deciding your own view of reality - and political adherence to what you believe to be the truth. This became so dangerous today - you could lose a job, lose friends, even family. You could be canceled completely, or blocked publicly or suffer all kinds of gross behaviour. I know in a democratic country your decision should be very normal and be answered by "so what?" but nowadays -- I salute you, and all the others who stand for truth, debate, facts, morals, and the free discussion of those.

@ Honestly man, I had already lost my family over this, in a sense. Not because we had an argument over this but because I’ve watched my family, who swear they think for themselves, follow that damned donkey into oblivion. It’s not that our relationship is acrimonious but these issues have irreparably affected our relationship. There isn’t a single race-baiting, Israel-bashing or unambiguously hateful feminist trope on offer from the toxic, identarian left they won’t eat up with a knife and fork. It’s feels most of the time as though fealty to that political ideology is more important to them than their son. It’s way worse out here than most people realize.

I'm a french jew. Now here in France we have the third Jewish population of the world, which makes it a sociologically valid sample for what I'm going to say. There was a traditional left side vote in the jewish community (call it 'democrate vote' if you wanna translate into american politics). Now, the antisemitism in France has risen to about 1000% within the last twelve month alone and now, at last, the Jews begin to oppen their eyes to the reality of left wing antisemitism, a hatered that pairs up with islamic antisemitism and that we call 'islamogauchisme'. And now the vote is shifting amongst jews not only ro right but towards far right, aka National Front. Jews of America will, I'm sure, come to reason too, as they will understand what we have: safety for jews now lies on the right side of the chessboard.

I’m a British Jew but with lots of French Jewish ancestry as well as Norman ancestry. It’s so interesting because in the uk Jews moved to the right in the 1970s, so earlier than in France or the USA. It was primarily due to Margaret Thatcher who had values very supportive of Judaism and who broke an unspoken rule of having more than one Jew in her cabinet at one time. In France I think the FN has moved away from the issues it had with anti-semitism in the past. This has also been happening in many other European countries where the parties termed as far right have become much more supportive of Jews and of Israel.
@getlost33462 ай бұрын
@@nickyverra2175 Typical Jewish person voting for Democrats are Reformist. The US Jews are 85% reformist. In Europe and Israel you don't see Reformist Jews as a Majority. Its around 10%, while the majority are Traditional Religious Conservative Jews. France's problem that it is being over run by Algerian Muslims.

Votre analyse est peut-être correcte pour la situation française mais pas pour les Etats Unis où la majorité (autour de 80 %) des juifs le sont dans un sens exclusivement "culturel" ou bien ethnique et non pas religieux ou d'appartenance au peuple juif.
@Golem.80882 ай бұрын

The majority of American Jews will vote for what’s in the best interest of Israel. Clearly Trump has been a great ally of Israel. Declaring Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel, moving the US embassy to Jerusalem and declaring Golan as part of Israel helped make over 55% of all American Jews, including me, to vote for Trump 3 times now. I’m so glad Trump won. Trump is a great president for our US and for Israel. 😊🇺🇸🇮🇱

You're delusional if you think that American Jews vote on what's best for Israel. If they did, like Israelis, they would've supported Trump by a wide margin. The truth is that there was relatively little movement among American Jews toward Trump and Republicans. Sadly, most are lib-left progressives and are repulsed by anything conservative or seen as being on the political right.

@bobster02 ай бұрын
FDR himself didn’t exactly “have our back”-and he is arguably the reason that to this day, many Jews mindlessly vote Democrat: because their parents did, and their grandmother loved FDR. For some Jews-often those most lacking genuine Jewish literacy & identity-the “Jewish tradition” most dear to them is voting Democrat. And I t’s hard to think of anything more stupid than voting for a candidate, based purely on a generations-long tradition of voting for their party.

It's very simple: Reform and Conservative Judaism have sold the concept of "Tikkun Olam" as the overriding defining concept of Judaism, and those with little or no knowlege or understanding of Judaim have "drunk the Kool-Aid", and believe it requires us to bow down before those who would destroy us.

I am a zionist and think that Israel has the right to defend itself. I voted democrat because I live in the USA and want women to have rights over their bodies, I support the LGBTQ community, I believe in the climate emergency, I believe in a more equal distribution of wealth, I do not want to vilify immigrants (aren't we all immigrants? Except native Americans of course), and I can go on and on. The antisemitism on the left is real and horrible and needs to be corrected and changed. Both the Dems and Republicans have much work to do to make the USA better, they are not perfect. As an Israeli American I support Israel but also support the many Israelis that protest and want to change their government's policies. To love Israel does not mean to agree with everything. To be patriotic does not mean the far right. There is antisemitism on the right (white supremacy) and on the left (anti zionism), both have to be fought in equal measure.

What a load of crap. Woke Americans-very much including Lefty Jews-favor performative humanitarianism & self-absorbed virtue-signaling. Actually doing concrete things that help people… eh, not so much. In contrast, in Israel, by the evening of 10/7, for example, an entire country, people all across the wide political spectrum, dropped what they were doing and got to work in a an enormous grassroots effort to help their countrymen in every way possible. That’s true humanitarianism.

I am Jewish and I voted against Trump. The reason which I believe should be acknowledged is that Harris while not pro Israel wasn’t actively against Israel. Trumps policies have changed on whims and I don’t trust him enough to know that he is better for Israel. If I had any confidence in him I would have voted solely because of Israel. I hope I am wrong but it is unfair to tie the fate of Israel to party lines. Israel is far more important than either party.
