Game 1: Shaq avg 26-16-9-3 on 63% Game 1: Hakeem avg 31-6-7-2-4 on 50% Game 2: Shaq avg 33-12-7 on 55% Game 2: Hakeem avg 34-11-2-4 on a lousy 46% Game 3: Shaq 28-10-6-1-3 on 65% Game 3: 31-14-7-2 on a lousy 46%. Game 4: Magic we’re already on vacation so Hakeem wins that game. That’s what separate the stats some between them. Shaq is a perfect example of how coaching is so important. He never respected his coaches in the 90’s because they didn’t come with championships and a real winning formula. In the 90’s he was a great player, but immediately when Phil Jackson showed up in 2000 Shaq took his game to a completely different level.

@@deesee2051if you watched growing up you would know this lol ever since 2010 it was an older version of Tim Duncan then that team became next level in terms of schemes and moving the ball it was not strictly because of him there was multiple pieces to it and that all comes down to coaching since they were hand picked by him as well not just a random player to be plugged in like Shaq he had a plan.

Shaq is right, he never needed coaching. His whole talent was down to the fact he grew to the size he did. Other players can't rely on pure luck in genetics and need skilled coaches that form a game plan for them to be open or get good looks so they can do what they're talented in doing. Not every player can muscle their way to the basket or hook and fade.

Why are people still arguing with Shaq about coaching. Hes not going to change his position. Shaq has been who he is for years, since he was a player. This cat didnt want to listen to Pat Riley. he defied him. He villified Stan Van Gundy. The only guy he ever liked was Phil Jackson and that was it. Shaq doesnt like people telling him what to do, and thats a coach's job, so. Phil was a great psychologist and prolly knew how to talk to him, theres a way u have to talk to Shaq to get him to do something.
