Marv is 80 years old. It’s amazing that he was able to do what he loved for so long and do it well. The game of basketball won’t be the same without him commentating. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. God Bless and Good Luck in retirement Marv.

Marv's voice is synonymous with basketball the way that people loved Howard Cosell for boxing. Marv was a play-by-play commentator for the Nets in the 2000s when I first started watching basketball so him being on the YES Network and TNT made Marv an important part of my childhood.

My memories of Marv Albert go back to his college sportscasting games. UCLA, USC etc. He WILL BE missed.

The "Marvelous" Marv Albert is the best play-by-play announcer of all- time. What a wonderful way to close out the 50 plus year of doing NBA Basketball on MSG, NBC, TBS, and TNT. Marv was the voice of my youth when he was part of 5 of 6 of the bulls NBA championships. The 90s were the best era for the NBA, because NBC gave us great coverage of the NBA with Marv doing play-by-play and Bob Costas as the studio host

I'm 44 and that was my sports childhood right there...caught a little bit of Brent Musberger on CBS when they did college and NBA games as well(born in 77 here)

Absolute LEGEND. Been watching the game for 30 years and heard his voice for a lot of iconic moments. But the game is definitely in good hands and this is the right time for him to enjoy the next chapter.

I was born in 81 in Chicago. I grew up watching Jordan on WGN9 and NBA on NBC channel 5. If I remember correctly the NBC games were on the weekends. I remember seeing the Knicks a lot.

The gold standard when it comes to sports broadcasting. The best of the best. So many iconic memories. Robert Horry’s 3, A spectacular move by Michael Jordan, Ray Allen’s 2,511th 3 pointer, I could go on and on. There will never be another marv albert. First ballot hall of famer for sure when it comes to broadcasting.

I grew up listening to Marv . He’s an icon in sports broadcasting that I will miss dearly. Just wish him the best. As far as the game , I just find it very interesting how the Bucks jelled together the way they did without their big star. Congrats to the Bucks and kudos to the Hawks.

Loved this tribute to him. All five of these guys were great to listen to. I hope he sometimes make guest appearances in the NBA. Doesn't have to be calling games. Could just be a guest in the studio.
