I don't know but I can't imagine that it was done on purpose especially when you consider how crazy his life and schedule is. Shaq is easily one of the biggest stars the world has ever seen. I have a cousin that plays in the NBA. He's good but he's not an all-star let alone an icon like Shaq and he's more of a journeyman. He got a good second contract but he's literally ALWAYS on the move. That lifestyle until you retire or are forced to retire is really the gift and the curse if you want to be a family man and have a wife or kids.

In general, many children do not have parents that don’t acknowledge them. He does, which is commendable and what great parents do. The oldest daughter and her mom chose to not be in the spot light like the others but his oldest daughter has been seen and is known about.
