Last year there were 107,112 rebounds, in 1996 there were 67,583 rebounds. So there are more missed shots. Game is the same length and there is still a shot clock. The players from the 90's spent 4 years in college and came into the league knowing fundamentals (rebounding, defense, blocking out, etc) Today they are in the league after one college season and have to learn the fundamentals in their first 4 years in the NBA (Jonathan Kominga as an example). The NBA today looks like the All Star games of the 90's. Imagine if 30 years from now the NBA looks like the All Star games of today.
