It depends what aspects of striking we're talking about. For a MW, his speed, volume, and shot selection of kicks/clinch strikes are very good. As demonstrated by the Silva fight, though, his boxing defense is porous. So yes, you have a point. But that's not the whole story; his striking is exciting and unique, and that's why people are pumped. Whether or not he gets beaten up depends on the UFC matchmakers
