Sweet chicken ❤ You're such a lovely beautiful girl. You speak my language!! As I sit here watching, munching on a healthy meat snack, rather than freshly made pumpkin bread, in my newly dyed pink Carhartt overalls, not thrifting.😂 Yesterday was my thrift day. I'm in OKC and there are way too many great thrift stores near me, but that doesn't matter too much, I generally only visit one, occasionally I'll pop into Goodwill. Not always so though! I am now 59 and I've always enjoyed everything about thrifting. The problem, ok one of the problems, is that I can find way too many amazing pieces at $1, 50c and even 25c. I love to create, sew, refashion and recycle. My self discipline in the past has been pretty good, but my youngest son passed away June of 23 and 4 days later a main left artery of my heart began to tear in two places. So recovery has been slow and thrifting has taken on a new meaning. First I was just focused on fabric, like sheets and quilts ( to make quilt coats) since life had come to an abrupt halt I was able to focus on sewing, which was very cathartic. Well I began to go every Thursday and bring loads of beautiful pieces home, you can imagine what that would produce! So I'm trying to organize and be thankful for all the great supplies I now have, but it's simply got to stop. I like what you said about not causing stress for yourself, helped me to redirect. I've made many lovely things and I will continue to do so, but there's nothing that's the same fun as thrifting. I take my big dog because they are pet friendly and we have a girl's day😂 It's interesting to me how different our colors are. I'm a bright spring and love contrast as well as monochromatic. Your style is fun, more of an old soul, you are a wonderful teacher however. My style is much more playful and less serious. But I'm not a therapist, at least not by degree!😊 Thank you for doing your videos, I very much appreciate end enjoy them. I feel as though I've made a new friend! Definitely kindred spirits, if I haven't said that before.❤ Many blessings to you and your family. And your chickens ❤🐔🐔🐔

@jmjanacek4335 I am so touched by this comment and by your presence here on my virtual sharing. Thank you. It always amazes me the way something that brings us joy and comfort becomes a medicine we turn to, and then how we are susceptible to abusing it. Your story of your heart literally breaking in the aftermath of such unbearable grief is evidence of how God designed us as a complex whole, not separated parts of mind, body, and soul. Then the way you brought your attention to something that is tangible and changeable and simple compared to the vastness of your loss - fabric. Fabric, something we can swaddle ourselves in and be contained, and protected from all that is outside of comprehension and control. What a moving story for you to share. Thank you.

Great video mate. I think it's important to entirely remove yourself from politics. There is no point to any of it. You think left, the other thinks right. So what? Its not any kind of revelation that humans think differently. Really, we should celebrate that fact, but instead it's been weaponized against us. Honestly, the biggest issues for me are whats going on in my garden. And for you I guess its whats going on in your closet. We all have our own things going on and it's great.

@Cons_Piracy_Theorist thank you for your comment, I resonate completely. I love the quote by the Serbian musician Dorde Balasevic, he said something along the lines of "how can I choose one side when you are on the other?" And I love that so much.

@@Cons_Piracy_Theorist Whether you vote or not, the government is still there, don't you want to have a say in who's in charge of things? Such a defeatist attitude, and not very helpful when the world is in chaos.
