Yes - I and many of you could have run out, even with not following these principles, by just making the little tougher positional shots. But I want to show you how to make less mistakes and how to make the game as easy as possible. And you do that by following these principles. If you make these things, I garantuee you will make less mistakes. Enjoy your lesson guys! P.S. Sorry for my pants.

Great video. I love the lessons where you show the unsuccessful or non-ideal shots/positions/plays before you show the successful breaks. Really makes things easier to grasp.

I agree. I also learn something new every time I watch not only your instructions and planning, but just watching your easy going approach to the game. I love your stroke and it helps keep me calm when I play. When I am in a match as opposed to practicing, things tend to speed up and one has to adjust constantly. I'm hoping to run out more. You are not playing the other guy, you are playing alone with what the table gives you. At 74 I'm an average player and have made a comeback from two shoulder surgeries and love playing pool. Thank you so much for your videos, I appreciate them. 😊

@@Sharivari now here's a challenge.... We both give lessons here in NS. The hardest thing to do is break someone of bad habits. Love to see you walk up to three players with horrible stance or stroke and FIX them. Beginners are easy.... advanced players with bad habits so hard to FIX! love the game...off to Nationals this week to represent!!!

Good stuff. One thing I would add, is it is preferable to work the ENTIRE initial table backwards or forwards (whichever you prefer, but I find backwards faster and easier, last ball back to the first you'll shoot). This let's you work out key balls to the final (if not rotation, obviously) and key balls to breakouts early on while "insurance" balls are easily obtainable if the breakout doesn't go exactly to plan and a shot didn't come available out of it. It also lets you, IMHO, work out rolling balls up shot lines rather than across them more often (and more easily) to mitigate the "cost" of speed errors, at least, I suspect, until you get to where your patterning capabilities are more automatic (learned). I do agree the 3 ball ahead is a minimum, though, and a good place to start. I like your channel and your explanations. For people commenting they can run out without this, OK, but not as often, and EVERY pro and good amateur level player uses and understands this stuff, and will beat you (almost surely) in the long run pretty much EVERY time. Nuff' said. It's kind of like the other night in league where I got a "MAN, that was a really good shot!" from a guy who is MUCH better than I am (probably an A player, or VERY close). I felt like saying, yeah, it will be nice to get to the point where my positioning DOESN'T require shots like that. If you look around, you can find another source, I think it's Hall's or Massey's clock English technique to understand a lot about the English application/result in a simple to follow format. AND, as for the pants, at least your underwear wasn't riding down....thanks for that! ;-) Liked.

I've been playing pool for 50 years and still forget some of those basic rules. Like not crossing the line when you don't have to. Thank you . I'm 70 and still learning. Although I played pretty good I still make those mistakes you talked about. So from one German to another you're doing a great job. Keep up the good work and your channel will thrive. Wish you the best of luck

Hello Sharivari. I am 64 years old have been playing pool all wrong my entire life. I grew up with a pool table in my basement and my friends and I played for fun without looking passed the current shot. I never played position and never practiced. I haven’t played in years and recently bought a table. I have recently subscribed to your KZbin videos and have been working on my game. I really respect the way you play and especially enjoy the way you teach the game. You make it look easy, but I know and can see the countless hours that have been spent to develop your skill. I need to adapt a bit from your methods since I have a spine disease which limits my flexibility. I cannot get down on the ball like I should, but I am beginning to establish a Sight line and muscle memory as I practice more and more. Thank you for your guidance.

🙋🏼Hello, On that last example the whole time I was thinking that it was a simple runout, nothing fancy to do, just a few stun shots. But when you started making it more difficult than it had to be I thought maybe you were trying to show a better way to do it. But then you did exactly what I was thinking and it made me realize I was right. It's good to know that I had the right mind set all along. What many people don't think about ( I'd love to see you make a video on) is that the easy shot isn't always the first shot you should make, especially when you have a lot of balls tied up or on the rails. Also, could you do more videos on safety play and using kick shots to get out of difficult situations to make a shot? More often in league or tournament play we are put in difficult situations where we need to know how to kick at the ball. I'd like to know how a rail reacts when you use English to shot at it. That kind of video would be so helpful. Thank for another great video, your a wonderful teacher. BTW is that you making the shots in the video? Just curious🤔

Great video! I’m familiar with most of these principles but am really working hard on the “towards the line” one. My instinct a lot of the time is to slow roll shots and go one rail, when often going towards the line can require two rails with side spin
