Gawd people are weird. The lifeguards are much more fascinating than any of those celebrities. The guy thrusting his child in ZE's lap is just ridiculous. I walked off in a Zoo in Tenerife once when I was about 6 and I was missing for 2 hours. I thought I could find my way back to where my mum and aunty and uncle were, from the toilets that my dad took me to but I ended up getting lost. I kept trying to speak to people that I thought might speak English but everyone literally just walked away from me so I wandered round until I saw I was close to the entrance/exit and that’s where I spotted my mum frantically searching for me and we both just burst into tears. I knew I was lost but I wasn’t scared at all but I can’t even imagine the fear in my family when they couldn’t find me. The worst for them was when they went to the exit area and noticed the photos that are for sale that get taken of you around the park holding different animals didn’t have any of me in so they thought maybe someone had taken me and taken the photos maybe as proof that I was a strangers kid but turned out the photos just hadn’t been printed off yet. My dad was looking into all the enclosures to see if I’d fallen in with the alligators or crocodiles and all sorts. My aunty and uncle lived there and spoke fluent Spanish so she was informing every one of the staff, that she came across, what I looked like and that I was missing. I can’t even imagine how scared they were 😢

I got lost at Canary Islands for 10-40 minutes the horror i had to go trough was insane, not being able to speak english or the local language i was so lucky i was able to find my parents. At the time i literally thought i would never see them again, thats how terrified i was. I really feel bad when i see cases of missing children since i my self know the horror of getting lost. I can't really speak for the parent but i bet it would feel horible to lose your child in that way.

Totally get what the guys meant by it taking too long to find the kid. When I worked at the zoo our average time to find a lost child was under 5 minutes, I will never forget the kid who was missing for over 25 minutes and the fear we *all* felt as each second passed. Thankfully we found him, he had gone back to his family's car (the zoo is fully walled-in and gated, so rarely do kids leave it unaccompanied) to wait for them when he lost them. Smart kid but very scary.
