- A breathtaking, almost out of body experience for sure! I was shaking in my boot(y) shorts as the crew took us away from the dock of safety into the deep, unknown, never-before-seen, blue abyss. The safety talk made it worse! "You have to show yourself as the dominant creature before the shark. Put yourself higher in the hierarchy. Never swim below it, always swim on top. If a shark approaches you, look into its eyes to show you are not scared. Push him away with your legs if you have to, etc" ... ... fear intensifies 'Is anyone else questioning their decision to do this?' I thought. I look around to smiling faces and nodding heads :c 'Well, this is it then. I've lived a good life...Wait, I didn't say goodbye to my parents.'
Thankfully, I was able to release those fears as soon as I went under. I looked at fear straight in the eye and succeeded in not becoming shark bait. It lead to an experience I will never forget and would love to do again!
