With no bag what's the point of the "auto emptying base"? Either way you're still manually just emptying a container into a trash bin while creating a dust cloud in the process. The only catch is, now they've suckered you into needing to replace an additional HEPA filter.
@RawansReviews2 ай бұрын
The base can take way more dust than the small canister on the machine. The advantage, instead of emptying it every few days, you do it every few months (depending on usage)

My hitch would be that air freshener thing that it has. I'm allergic to fragrances, so would not be able to use that at all. It looks like something has to be there though.
@RawansReviews10 ай бұрын
Not at all. I used the vacuum for a few days before installing the air freshener. And to be honest, not something I personally find useful and would probably go without.

@@RawansReviews It would bug me having that hole there. I did call you can keep the cap on w/out the fragrance cartridge underneath, so you don't have blowback. @sanjayp2683 thanks! I do get sent products for review, and some are even sponsored videos paid by the brand as well. But if you watch any of my other videos, I always declare that at the beginning of the video if it’s the case, to be completely transparent towards my viewers. This wasn’t the case here-I purchased it myself and actually is currently the main stick vacuum that I use myself at home. I just thought it was a great unit (barring the few inconveniences I mentioned in the review). Thanks for watching!
@nk385025 күн бұрын
I just ordered this from Costco and then decided to look at reviews 😅 I think I made a good choice. I really love my shark Corded and will use that for carpets - it’s almost 10 years old and works great, I just HATE the cord. I had a Bissell cordless for small daily vacuuming and the flexible hose connecting the motor to the wand has a crack in it after only about 18 months of use. Battery etc still work but there’s no way to fix it. Extremely annoying. Anyway it’s been 6 months and I thought maybe I could just make do with the corded - nope. I find that I never vacuum because plugging in the cord in every room is so annoying. I originally got the cordless when I was pregnant and had trouble bending down repeatedly (but had a messy toddler to tidy up after!). I really hope I can park this in the corner of my kitchen and I’ll get back to vacuuming every couple days to keep things super clean. My kids are messier than ever 😂
@nk385025 күн бұрын
I’m located in Canada and the version I have ordered does appear to have the flex.
@nk385025 күн бұрын
And yes I think the coffee test you did, the oils in the coffee caused the stain. Which would happen regardless of the vacuum you used to try and clean them up. And why it came up only with soap and water
@nk385025 күн бұрын
Also it’s funny you mention the flex in the middle of the unit - my bissell cordless had the same sisu and at first I worried that the locking mechanism would fail, so I was very ginger with it. However it def stood the test of time and I had no issues (it was the hose inside the motor head that ended up breaking)

The difference in run times looks like one was timed on eco and the other on standard power.
@RawansReviews11 ай бұрын
One was in Eco indeed but the other was in Max mode. So standard (auto) mode will get you a runtime sometime in between these 2 extremes. Thanks for watching!
@maipantoon78239 ай бұрын
It's a big difference. Eco will run for the full hour. High mode is about 15 mins. Auto detect mode - depends how often you hoover. Because it genuinely is intelligent. It's not switching to high power every time it goes onto a carpet, for instance. It will only switch to high if it detects dirt. So if you hoover quite regularly, it won't go into high that much, and will probably last 30 minutes
@RawansReviews9 ай бұрын
Did you get a full hour in Eco mode? I timed multiple times and got a few minutes shy of 40 minutes.
@maipantoon78239 ай бұрын
@@RawansReviews I think it uses far more power on carpets, even in Eco mode. If you put it on a hard wood surface, in Eco mode, it barely uses any power at all. My house is mostly hard wood

And if you have a recommandation of the best vaccuum ever for you, even if its not the brands that ive mentionned, which vacuum would it be? (Regardless of the price, just quality) ? @RawansReviews11 ай бұрын
I haven't tried the Stratos so can't comment on performance. But from the looks of it, I would be inclined to go for this one. Seems to be lighter and more compact, and the auto-empty charging base is a nifty plus. Sorry can't be of more help!
@markhamill801611 ай бұрын
Thanks for reply. If I got another battery how would you keep it charged if using the first battery on the dock
@RawansReviews11 ай бұрын
That's a fair point. Unfortunately there's no 'easy' way to do that. Some other vacuums with docking stations I've seen have a slot on the docking station to charge a second battery. Unfortunately this doesn't and so you'd have to manually take out the battery once it's fully charged, and pop in the second on. Fortunately though it's very easy to pop out the battery, even when the vacuum is docked. If you were getting the version without the dock, the battery on that one appears to charge by plugging in the charger directly into the battery. So could be easier to charge 2 batteries.
@markhamill801611 ай бұрын
I wonder is the dock worth it? What you think?
@markhamill801611 ай бұрын
I hate the thought of having to plug in after every use manually!
@daniellamarca15884 ай бұрын
Unfortunately this model stops charging after only 3 months of use, that’s not helpful information about how to fix this problem besides buying a new battery which can cost the same price as an another model vacuum. It was good for small debris but nots so much for dust suction. Is not worth the cost.

ANNOYING ISSUE: The Shark Detect Pro has a small corner sealed compartment inside the clear plastic dust collection bin. The purpose of this seems unknown even to Shark. It has a BIG design flaw in that this compartment is NOT SEALED where it meets the cylindrical plastic outside cover. It collects dust when it shouldn't. Solution: use a PC air blast can at the bottom seal to shake up the dust and a Shop-Vac to try and suck out as much as you can. Then SEAL inside the dust cylinder where it meets this mysterious compartment either with Scotchtape (best) or if you've managed to empty it, with Superglue. Bad Design - Shark and online "technicians" are NO use.

I already lost interest in this auto-empty Shark System. The docking station and battery charger area is NOT COVERED BY THEIR WARRANTY. MY GUESS IS THEY DOUBLED ITS RETAIL PRICE TO COVER THEIR EXPECTED LOSSES IN THIS AREA.
@brendagoodale6049 ай бұрын
I wouldn't purchase anything that SHARK Ninja has to sell. They misrepresent their products and they don't honor their warranty. Ask me how I know, I have purchased multiple Shark products and until this last purchase I didn't have any problems but with this new 159.00 shark stick and the no hair wrap brush roll is a worthless piece of junk. You have to run over all dirt and grass multiple times 5 to 8 or ten to get this piece of junk to pick up. I have tried for three months to get Shark to replace this vacuum because I have a warranty that I paid for, they have refused. I have pictures of what this worthless junk doesn't do and that's to pick up dirt. Waste of money. Don't purchase.

Similar issue. They know there is an issue with their hoses on their upright models. It's a molded plastic part that a DIYer can't fix because you can't get it apart. When I spoke with customer service today they informed me they no longer manufacture the part and it is considered a wearable part not covered by their 5 yr limited warranty. However, after combining the web looking for replacement parts, I see I'm not alone with this issue. The motor works well but useless without a suction hose. Now, onto the cord. The cord becomes twisted from repeated use as if it were braided instead of smooth out of the box. I am seriously considering my options regarding the complete replacement of the unit. I am not a fan of Dyson. I have used Bissell, Dirt Devil, Hoover, Kenmore, and the discontinued Fury. I loved my Fury. Also, I had great success with my Hoover Windtunnel, but my absolute favorite was our Kenmore Intuition. I rescue animals. Debris, litter, and hair are always an issue when deciding products. I really wish Shop Vac never went out of business but instead expanded into home vacuums with the same suction as their work shop vacuum. That's my two cents worth.
