I just wanted to say thank you for a very useful video. It saved me a lot of work. I removed the cover from the back of the motor (by removing the four screws as shown) and then used an air duster to clean dust away from the armature (and it took a lot of dusting) .. but fixed the problem.. no E2! However, it did not work after replacing the cover. I found that it was very sensitive to the torque on the 4 retaining screws. The screws had to be slightly loose before it would work... so there was a very slight play when the cover was wobbled. Now works with no problem! Thanks again (and the air duster was also very useful for cleaning the air filter that I didn't even know was there!)

Was there anything physical blocking the motor or did it just need a cleaning ?

lol at the eBay sound in the background, probably me buying a Miele cable reel or something. Last time I had the E2 I found moisture behind the display.

I cleaned mine out I have the basic iz103ukgb took the foam and felt filters out washed them took the hard paper one out with the rubber seal rinsed that dried it all on the radiator which I think has shrunk the rubber seal now the hoover whistles like mad if you push the canister upwards the whistle stops as it’s pushing the hard plastic paper filter in tight to the seal but this causes it to cut out there is also no suction ever seen that the collection basket feels loose since I washed it all as well 😂 I wish I never even touched it have ordered a new filter the one with the rubber seal in a hope that’s the problem

Yes. On 2 of mine. It's a "communication" error. Forums say to check the contacts between the head, wand &/or motorised heads (large/pet). But just using the head with no attachments still gives a 60, so it can be between head & battery, or even motor to control panel. Loose/dirty battery contacts, or motor contacts. Haven't bought the special screwdriver tips yet, to undo the security type screws in the iz4?0uk range, to evaluate a fix. Switching off & on on mine restarts it. People are too rough & careless swapping attachments & this causes loose or broken contracts between the sections. Also, there are 2 dust sensors a finger's length just inside the head's inlet (left & right). These get dirty & cause problems (not necessarily error 60)

Hi. I was only trying to find what the issue could possibly be to have the E2 error code, not sure if other issues could create the same error code and I didn’t do any repairs after but if you do find your cause please send a message as it could help others. Regards Adam
