The guy said he did M&A for the past three years, yet he valued his company at such a high figure. Considering the basic valuation methods, there should have been no way that he came to the conclusion that 15% of his company was worth $500k given his company weak cash flow. Likewise, there is no strong infrastructure, patent, or PP&E. They want to use the investment to build an app, etc. I'm just mind-blown by how someone doing M&A can arrive at this valuation.

That was Mya, R&B singer, she was very popular back in the early 2000s. I actually liked her music still listen to her from time to time. It would be cool if they could make this platform for connecting with artists who were popping back then. Business looks to have stalled. The news section hasn’t been updated since 2021, Mya comes up as their best selling celebrity but only has three reviews. By comparison, lots of mid level celebs on Cameo have around 4000 reviews. I’m not sure it was a good concept, imagine being told the customer has paid for 5 mins then they keep on talking and it’s up to the celebrity to say ‘no I’m stopping talking now, you only paid for five minutes’

I would like to see the couple succeed, but the business model is just not good. Most of the people who would want to avail of this service would be young people, but how many of them would have the extra money to spend on this luxury good? And so more than 4 years after appearing in Shark Tank, they still have very low sales, and the most popular celebrities on their listings are the two of them (for their appearance in Shark Tank).
