What makes me really really respect these 5 is the fact that all 5 are completely different personalities... but their knowledge about business and monetary spending is so thorough and good that they think the same way about a business when presented. Thats excellence.

Bullshit ! They copy and follow each other's crap. Nothing special or unique about these clowns. Fuck their little money. Australia is crap when it comes to investment. Almost as hard as getting a penny in Zimbabwe. US still far better for taking risks..

Sharks should have been acting like sharks and tried to get a piece of that wholesale as well as the retail store to cover there risks. Something no doubt would have been offered in the US version of shark tank.

I've been in small retail businesses all my life. I'm 69 years old. People never understand the cost of brick and mortar stores. Most of your profits go to the landlord, insurance companies, employees, taxes, & utilities. If you are very, very lucky, you will end up with 10% of gross.

I don't blame them not investing. 200k rent, 2 full timers 80k, 1 manager 55k, a casual 20k. 355k per year there alone not including insurances fit out marketing. First time entering retail no proof of concept, going into competition against your wholesale customers you might lose them. Having to move 400k+ a year is about $1100 per day. Not impossible. But also not worth the risk, if she offered some equity in the wholesale business to give some promise they'd get some money back it might be worth a punt, but to only invest in the retail side you'd be crazy.

@@sarahreynolds6805 the reason why they bring people with bad business ideas on show is because it's a win win for both production and viewers, viewers get entertained watching bad business proposals and the episode makes production a lot of money, also it teaches us what not to do, Every investor should be like Steve, he's brutally honest, and there is no place for emotion or fulfillment in business it's purely for profit that should be clear to people, i love Steve too, dude is cold hearted but if he has his eye on a deal he won't back down that easily.

Darrell Lea was the first thing that came to mind for me also. I wanted to ask what does she have that Darrel Lea didn't? Having seen a documentary on Darrell Lea ("Australian Story") my objections increased. This was a family of workaholics who made their fortune over several generations, and they did it by living-and-breathing the business. The kids said that nothing was talked about at home except the business. With all that, Darrell Lea eventually went under.

It’s more of a “thank you for your time” it’s just polite.

It's so uniform across Dragon's Den and Shark Tank, I think they are told to say by the producers. Sometimes they go a bit far with an enthusiastic "Thankyou!!!", as Sharks/Dragons quickly drop out, and then can look a bit silly.

She is selling her brand ahead. Fair for negotiating ? Hein ? I mean there are people who sell you fish in the water. How is that wrong ? Who the fuck would trust these clowns with some big top Business ? Do you think they will not rip you off , even if you sign an NDA ? GTFO.
