I can see your argument about somebody being invested offering better advice but you have to remember that people who are invested in your company act in their own best self-interests while somebody who is not invested in the company can offer more genuine advice because it comes from a non-biased place I can see the argument being that because they are not invested they could give you advice either way and it doesn't effect them any but if they are a genuine person then they will offer genuine advice it is who you surround yourself with that matters the most

Here's the update: Copa di Vino acquisition was acquired by SBEV for a total of $5,980,000 in addition to assuming certain liabilities, will mark the addition of a fourth premium brand to Splash Beverage's portfolio. But Kevin was also right. SBEV aims to introduce the bottle technology (patents) into their other products.

The first time he was on Shark Tank, Kevin offered him a good deal that would let him continue running his wine business, but also licensing the packaging system. James wasn't confident enough in his own wine, so he had to gate keep the packaging because it was the only differentiator from his competitors. Then the second time around, he got an offer from THREE sharks. Anyone would be unstoppable with Robert, Kevin, and Mark in their corner. In the end, James sold Copa Di Vino for $5.9 million in 2020. Everyone in the comments saying that he created drama and that he was playing games but I totally disagree. He came back more confident and proved them wrong. The sharks' offer of 30% for 600k was a terrible deal since his company is now valued at 70mil. He did the right thing by not giving out so much equity. The sharks pull off the same, if not worse, shenaningans in each episode, so just because you're not a shark doesn't mean you have to sell out and bow to them. He stood his ground without being disrespectful and still wanted to work with Kevin despite the harsh judgment he got last time. Also Kevin has lost a lot of credibility with the FTX scandal so Mr. Wonderful "Chevaliers du Tastevin" isn't that "wonderful" anymore...

The sharks didn't want to acknowledge his success, neither did they want to give him a fair offer, neither did Cuban give him a guarantee that he can sell the product in his own stadium. James Martin can gloat because he proved himself, and he valued his company fairly. He should've been given a fair offer. 15% for 600k would've been a decent offer.

There was definitely a deal to be done there, had he wanted one. He initially valued at 6m, but later made comments approving a 5m and then even a 4m valuation. Kevin valued it at 2.5m. Their 3 shark deal valued it at 2m. Perhaps they could have agreed on a 3-shark valuation at 2.5m (eg 600k for 24% instead of their 30% offer).
