Man two things: if the founders of RBD were so open about under-reporting their profits, it shows a certain degree of confidence in that system - they have worked for their competitors, and have named the company after their grandfather. It has to be a well-known trade secret to do so. But, claiming this on national television is stupidity. Income Tax Department will not let this go. I am watching this from Dublin, Ireland. It’s a poor reflection on the state of affairs in Rajasthan. They might realistically make an example out of them. What would have been better in this case, is if they never came on Shark Tank. They look like honest, hard workers, and under-reporting taxes seems to be the way of business where they are from. I do not think the government deserves the tax anyway, so from a moral perspective - no problems. The Indian government charges tax for nothing - the roads are crap, women aren’t safe, India is the most Godless country despite being so invested in its billion Gods. Screw the government, don’t pay them. There’s an important lesson here for them. Hope their business succeeds.
