Personally think the UCL is underrated. It’s such a prestigous honour bc even if you are the best team with the best resources and best manager, you still might get knocked out (think about City who were the favourites for so many years). Ppl say it’s easy but most clubs haven’t won it more than 5 time in the history of it’s existence & in the last 23 years, only 6 times did an English club win it. That’s 6/23 and we’ve had simeone, pep, saf, wenger, ancelotti etc. in this league during that time but inly 6 times we won it. The best part is players and fans around Europe recognise your club more when you win the UCL more than if you win the PL. English fans already know Arsenal are a strong big club in England but around Europe, winning a UCL will remind those fans & young European players about Arsenal’s prestige. For example, Hazard chose to join Chelsea all them years ago because they had won the UCL the year before

bruh this "i'll take the league over the champions league" is nonsense. firstly lets talk about the memories, there is no way you can say with a straight face that the memories created in the premier league are even half as fondly remembered as in the ucl. every great game in the ucl is seen as something glorious and with wayyyy more gravity than a league game. secondly, lets talk about the quality of the games. there is a significant jump in playing crystal palace to fc porto and than real madrid. moreover, the games have far more tension and are gripping from start to end regardless of the greater tactical strength required by managers as england lives in a bubble of its own tactics. liverpool as a club stand out as independent from the rest of england because of their innate style of play and they are held up in far higher regard in europe because of it. the 2-legged ties are looked forward to for months and are an opportunity for fans to show how much they love their teams inside the stadium with the incredible atmospheres you'll find in the champions league. stadiums take on different status in any champions league games and are so much scarier and intimidating as a result, the bernabeu is surreal in the ucl but very quiet in the league for example. in the premier league for good stadium atmospheres you've got st james' park, maybe the london stadium, anfield and goodison and you used to have old trafford. finally, above all else, the feeling of winning the champions league. you vividly remember the games leading to it and every major narrative and story line, and on top of that the total euphoria. i've seen my team win the one ucl, it makes you want to cry tears of joy from your stomach whereas a league has a far less emotional feeling to it. the ucl is just magic and a league is very gritty especially in england.

Partey ain’t doing overlapping runs, he was an extra midfielder. Against City in the community shield when everyone was fit but Jesus, they started on paper together in midfield. He may leave because of injuries, but while he’s here and fit they will both play together.
