Lollll why didn’t congress get 230 like bjp and why are foreigners declaring 99 seats for congress as victory seems that you don’t follow numbers as well as you claim

What moral defeat? BJP retained vote share. Opposition votes were less divided. Congress has given up on UP. In Maharashtra, BJP votes got divided. The only place where BJP actually lost, was West Bengal, and a bit in Rajasthan.

No such thing as moral defeat. In politics, the only thing that matters is whose government is formed after election and in that regard, Modi has won. A victory is a victory, and Modi is not the only leader governing with a coalition government.

BJP had 0.7% decline in their vote base and has increased their vote share in other states which used to dislike Bjp .

The victory-defeat defeat-victory feeling is sharpened by the hype of the exit polls.

People like Rahul Gandhi has no other business... He goes on a world tour to do anti-India propaganda... Mr. Sharma seems to be influenced by Mr. Gandhi...

It’s all media propaganda. Rahul Gandhi must be on payroll of CIA. He is just a puppet.

Happy to see that Ruchir Sharma is able to grasp the Indian elections. Most commentators in West fail to do so. Reading 'The Economist,' or listening to Raghuram Rajan (UK), or Kaushik Basu (Columbia); I often wonder how less understanding of India they have. There one point of difference with Mr Sharma - bold policy initiatives will continue for the next five years as well because allies of BJP have pragmatic leaders and because Govt is stable.

BJP got 37% votes just like 2019. In 3 states BJP/NDA touched 20%(kerala, TN and Punjab). Sooner it will become power full force in these states. BJP national footprint is growing just look at the results.

This is about a few % of independent voters who are not slaves of any political party. The campaign by the incumbent PM was disgraceful. Be respected by your views and not so much by clothes and luxury!
