*Had this done on me 50 years ago. The Güntscher nail (rod) was removed 6 months later. It was in Sweden, Stockholm. Local anaesthesia. It was a horribly painful experience. Today I would demand Epidural/Spinal with Propofol on the side. Bangkok-Johnnie aka John K. Lindgren 14 orthopaedic operations. @@celiajessiman5260 Hard to say, really. Breaking your femur is pretty damn painful. My leg bruised and swelled up. So that kinda overshadowed any pain from the rod and screws being put in.
