Sharon "Peppy" Greenberg on Wheel of Fortune, April 5-6, 1988

This is three shows on Wheel of Fortune's daytime show -- April 5th (I won every puzzle), April 6th, I won the first puzzle and someone else was the big winner, and April 7th, the next day (which I recorded just for fun). Since it was the daytime show, the prizes were much smaller in value. Yes, it as so long ago that you still had to buy prizes with the money you won. I won over $13,000 in fabulous prizes, most of which I sold.

I love old gameshows. I think most are better than today. All these shows were filmed before I was born and I love seeing all the stuff from back then. How did they get your prizes to you? Thanks for the video.

Thanks so much for watching! Everything was shipped, directly from the manufacturer, so it took FOREVER for me to get my 19 gifts. I sold most of them, but kept the big TV unit (and the TV), a camera, books, tray tables (which I still have!) and some watches.

@@lidsman2221 you don't get to choose anything. In fact, sometimes you don't even get the prize you won! I won a dessert of the month for a year. I got one dessert and then was informed that it was no longer available, but they let me choose another gift of equal value and I got a recliner for my husband. 😁 They send you the books they want, the watches they want, etc. And you are lucky to get them in one piece. LOL. The saddest part was six months after my show aired they went to cash prizes and eliminated all the furniture, etc.

I like the choosing prizes over how they do it today and the bonus round in the 90s where they had Wheel spelled out with differnt prizes in each slot was better than today. They always had some really nice trips or new living rooms etc. Now for the most part they only land on the minium cash for the current season. It's so boring.

To the best of your memory, how did the wheel feel to you when you spun it?

While the daytime version of "Wheel of Fortune" was having contestants buy prizes, the nighttime version had permanently transitioned to playing for cash, which sped up the game considerably. Also, the nighttime version was preparing to take Wheel of Fortune on the road for the first time with their destination being Radio City Music Hall. I do have to admit that it's going to be very hard to say goodbye to Pat Sajak.

April 1988 was Jack Clark's final month of the daytime WOF, his last nighttime Wheel was in early May 1988. You can tell here that Jack was very sick (his voice was weak).

If Sharon had handed in free spin for a second time in Round 3 on her second game, she would’ve possibly won the game instead of Debbie who won the $6,000 jackpot! It’s awesome that Sharon sweeps the game and won the TV cabinet in the bonus round! It was one year before I was born on 4/8/89!
