This is probably my favorite interview of hers. When people describe Sharon they always use sweet, gentle, passive words. While Sharon was a very sweet person, she was also intelligent and had things to say. In a time when women's voices were often quieted it's refreshing to see her be assertive.

She's excellent. There was not one ostentatious air about Sharon. She was so well mannered and seemingly genuine. I also think Sharon had a strong upside, and could have enjoyed a lot of success in the 70's and 80's, especially. She had the work ethic. But, I think she was much more interested in being a wife and mother, than living her life in stardom. Even apart from her own absence, to think of Sharon offers a glaring reality about the past, where it's hard to reconcile what has been lost. I absolutely loathe the Hollywood of today.

Towards the end of the interview when Sharon talks about what makes one special is they have “a fresh natural quality that no one has touched it’s something that’s them “ and what makes them appealing is “to keep themselves who they really are” and when she says sexiness to her “is in every movement “ To me this is what makes Sharon so wonderfully beautiful and makes you fall in love with ALL of her .

I like the way she kindly and gently takes exception to the word 'starlet'. Whatever opinion one holds of her acting ability, it's obvious that she took her craft seriously. Let's face it, the movies she was in, by and large, weren't particularly good. "Valley of the Dolls" can be fun if you're in the right mood, but it's kind of ridiculous. Had she lived and gotten better roles, she may have become a huge star. Unfortunately, we'll never know.

Incredible video. Sharon was definitely going to be a huge star. She really worked on her craft. Just a tragic story.

She's so Fantastic! I say O God too lol and she speaks with such elegance and poise, yet she has a sense of humor and find her quite clever in her opinions, especially her thoughts on acting and image

Oh but Sharon unbeknownst to herself and the public she became a legend. Unfortunately it wasn't until her death that became a legend. Unlike Marilyn Monroe, Sharon had a wonderful future to look forward too. Marilyn was dealing with depression, alcohol and drugs all at the same time. Sharon was beautiful, glamor and a wonderful personality. She is forever young, she lived a shortened life at 26 years old. I have tried to collect some of her movies over the years, just to have a small piece of her beauty. Nobody really understands why Sharon captured my attention decades after death, there is something about her we all loved about her, I guess that she was a gentle type she was. She will never be forgotten.

Thank you for sharing this. I was only eight years old when the murders took place and I knew nothing about them. I was looking through a copy of Tiger Beat (fan magazine mostly about singers such as David Cassidy and the Monkees) and there was a reference in the magazine that read something like "...the tragic death of Sharon Tate last year". I asked a relative who she was.---This is the first time I've heard Miss Tate speak at length as herself and not a movie character. Her voice and Jayne Mansfield's voice in conversation, not acting, are quite similar. Jayne Mansfield also spent much of her growing up years in Texas.

when I was this age I was bonkers off the wall, she's so grounded and wise, this is the best advice for serious actors... its still holds true today Im sure... sleeping with someone does not an interesting actor make! and acting is not easy like it looks. Thank you Kathy for posting... 💕💕💕

When I think of the 70's I think of Farrah Fawcett, the 80's Princess Diana and the 60's Sharon Tate. What a lucky girl I am to have these beautiful, intelligent, compassionate women as my role models. She is simply beautiful.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful interview. Sharon was quite intelligent, years ahead of her time in regards to her thoughts and opinion on what makes for a good actress. Everyone is unique in their own way and are therefore special and shouldn’t be made to conform to Hollywood expectations.
