I LOVE your technique! I can't work clay because of my hands, but I can do this. I can't wait to get the projects I'm working on now finished so I can play with making things! Thanks for sharing!! I'm glad you are feeling better and posting more!

You are so welcome! It's wonderful to know the video was helpful to you. I know that some people do wonder why I don't just switch to clay and wood but nah, my heart is with these materials and it always will be. And thank you for the kind words, I'm really happy to be back at what I love doing!

I love this coat rack! I truly love your technique. I don't use polymer clay because I don't have a separate oven to use for clay baking. I have used air dry clay in the past but it cracks when it dries on big projects. So I really love using your method. You inspire me!! I hope you are safe, with all of the fires in Canada now. My best friend lives in Delta and we were talking about them yesterday. I sometimes watch your videos over & over again because I enjoy themes much. Thank you for making them and sharing your brilliant ideas with us!! My head is full of ideas, as I want to make so many of the things you have shared in your videos. Thank you again.

That's just awesome, I wish you many creative and happy days in there! I'm happy for you. As for the mouse house, I know as soon as the inspiration hits me, I'll be in it day and night, lol so so many things to make :)

You make things look so easy 😀, I’m pretty sure that my coatrack wouldn’t look that good. You are really skilled and have developed an eye for realistic looking miniatures. I would buy this coatrack just to display on my little shelf in the kitchen dedicated for miniatures. Love watching and listening to you 🥰

Yes, I agree with you...this took me back to when you were making your "wood" furniture. I thought you did an awesome job then and you still do. Mom, is still amazed and fascinating by your work. She has so much trouble comprehending the "how" of it. Every video she sit enraptured watching it. She wants to make something, but is too afraid to try. And sadly, I don't have the physical (or family political) space to make any. (All my hobbies were force back into deep storage.) But amazing work!

thank you very much! The very first time I used it was for staining wooden coffee stir sticks when I made my very first miniature hardwood floor. I had no real stain on hand, and even if I did, I hate the smell, lol so coffee was it! That was 2013. I've used it for so many things since. The color lasts forever if you seal it in.

I built myself a wall mounted bookself out of pallet wood, and i wanted to hide the metal bars with what would look like tree trunks, i will use cardboard out of boxes for the base shape, i was wondering what to color it, the shelves are rustic white, and i think i love the coffe stain effect i would try that!

Would clear nail polish work to seal it if don’t have any sealer? I want to make one of these for the first miniature room I’ve ever made. I already made couch, curtains and carpet for it. I’ll use metal coat hangers for mine.

you can save it for a few days. I don't know exactly how long it will last but yes, I've used few days old stain before. I made way too much in this video, you really only need to mix up a small amount at a time.

I’ve made a number of different style beds but the rustic ones are my favourite. I think that’s because I dream of living in a log house one day lol so I live through the Gnomes 😂 I do remember the days, not so long ago, building with my kids too. It’s a joy to have those memories, they were always so excited to make things.

Hi, Sharon! Do you follow Happy Home Mama's channel? You mentioned you discovered your own method for recreating a carved wood look. On her channel she just made the most amazing faux carved wood chair, using Apoxie Sculpt. I have seen many other KZbinrs use it in armature design for smaller scale projects. Just wondered if you have tried it, and what your thoughts are on it. There is another really cool product called Warbla. It is a heat activated material that is used for sculpting. Have you used it before?
@WhereTheGnomesLive
@WhereTheGnomesLive 3 жыл бұрын
no, I don't follow the channel but I did look for the video and that's really cool. It's amazing what one can do with clay, and speciality clays too, it's so impressive! Amazing details achieved. I probably wont ever use it on my channel since I try to keep to the simple and cheap materials so others can easily find the same things but it's really interesting for sure. I haven't heard of Warbia either, I'm off to google it now. Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it!

@WhereTheGnomesLive
@WhereTheGnomesLive 3 жыл бұрын
no, I think it's rags much like his gloves, as far as I can tell from on pictures online of him. He does have a bit of fur around his one boot though, I did double check that since I feel he wouldn't wear fur either. There might be a reason, lol we'll find out one day!
