Hello Den. The WriteView feature is automatic with the EL-W516T when the calculator is in Normal Mode. What the WriteView feature does is display the result of a calculation in the same manner that it would be written on paper if solving by hand. This helps many users visually understand the mathematics function. Great question. To use the calculator, take the example what percent of 400 is 120? Enter in to the calculator, 120 divided by 400 and then press the 2nd F key in the upper left corner followed by the % on the 1 key. Press the equals/enter key for your answer of 30%

Hello Jason. It depends upon the model of calculator. For this particular model, the EL-W353TGB-BL, yes, all active operations are powered by the solar panel located in the upper right portion of the calculator. For this model, there is a small button cell battery (similar to what is in a watch) that saves all memory functions you put into the calculator when it's powered off. Hello, the EL-531 does not have an equation mode like the more advanced Sharp scientific calculators. You will need to use the quadratic and cubic formulas to solve.

Hi @Lilouta11, great question. The previous model was the EL-W535XBSL. It has been replaced by this model, EL-W535TGB-BL. The EL-506TSB-BW replaced the EL-506X model. It includes all the same upgrades at the EL-W535TGB-BL, but has a higher number of functions at 470, does not have the WriteView Display, and only has a 2 line 12 digit screen whereas the screen on the EL-W535TGB-BL does have WiteView and a 4 line display with 16 digits. I bought this and only discovered just now if has not Statistics functions like other Sharp calculators. I'm very disappointed. There's no summation, variance, mean, standard deviation buttons etc
