I'll be honest with you I grew up as a young adult during the disco era when tape boom boxes first began and I never liked them, and I never liked Sharp as a radio manufacturer. But I'm glad I watched this til the end because what you made is indeed very cool. Well done with that creation...you should be proud.

I do agree with this to an extent. If the box is not able to be restored to it’s original condition then this is better than throwing it out. I will always keep mine original as spray paint isn’t durable like dyed plastic. Most I would do is add white leds to light it up at nite but I’ll have to learn how to do it.

In case you don't know how the APSS works; here is how it works. I had a USA version similar like this when I was in my teens. APSS finds the quiet spaces between songs. You can skip up to 7 songs by pressing a key 1-7 and then the RW, or FF button while the tape is playing. It will go to that spot and the start playing that song. Music search....

Всё бы ничего, но красить подвижку ширика краской из балончика не хорошо. Так как вес её становиться больше а чюйка меньше. Для этих целей есть тушь (белая и черная).А так все нормально, насчет светодиодов...

Комментарий по делу, согласен с Вами, вот только автор едва ли прочтёт такой изыск на великом могучем, позволю себе переложить суть: ---Everything is good, but there is no need to paint a broadband speaker cone. As its weight becomes more, and sensitivity is less. For these purposes there is a special mascara (white and black). And so everything is fine, about the LEDs

Spraying hint... If there's a chance, like here, that the paint will seep under the masking tape then spray around those areas with a clear lacquer first which will fill the gaps around the tape and prevent any more paint getting there.

That's cool. I like to rub the heat shrink tubing with the barrel of my soldering iron. No hot fingers. No burn marks either. Nice project.

Я думаю что были и подобные расцветки моделей . Некоторые шли ограниченным тиражем . Кто не хотел бы раньше , да и сейчас иметь в коллекции топовую в своё время модель . Иные из их шли только в некоторых странах как Японии или в США . Но виурезанныз моделях шли те же распечатаные платы , но с отсутствующими урезаными дополнительными элементами .

Just a suggestion, but I would sand that plexiglass before you peel the safety backing off , that way you don't get unwanted stuff on your brand new clean glass.

Great rescue ❗️ The only thing I would do different ( would cost more) - to have it painted with automotive paint as opposed to spray paint - for durability, and a couple good clear coats would really be “ sharp “ 📻🙂

Sharp 80's radio, this is the first swallow of modern technology. Beautiful design and cheap, low sound quality. Sharp technique, it is always a hoax buyer. Cheap, beautiful unnecessary thing, as the quality of sound in Sharp technique is in last place. A trinket that did not perform its basic functions - good recording and playing music.
