Good job I have done this years ago all worked up until yesterday radio works no problem but the tape deck when I press the play button this humming sound comes left meter goes crazy the right nothing and some background like like recording of the tape I can hear any idea what that could be?

You will need to clean the recording bar switch as all your music goes through that switch. You will need to remove the cassette deck to get to that switch to clean it with deoxit.
