One of the best cameras I ever had. Captured memories from High school to adulthood. The digital ones today can't compete in my opinion.

i got one of these for 5 dollars at a thrift store and it works perfectly just needs a new battery even came with a brand new sealed hi 8 tape and manual

VCR mode lets you play back/see what's on a pre-recorded tape/cassette..while CAMERA mode allows you to record to a blank tape/cassette..there is a switch to the right of the LCD/viewer screen..which. Is for/allows (OFF/ON/CAMERA/VCR) to turn on/off..or switch to camera or vcr..

I want to see what’s on my old cassettes but everytime I put them in the camera and go into VCR, it says “EJECT THE CASSETE.” What do I do? I really wanna see what’s on my tapes.

My aunt’s friend gave me one, and it came with everything it originally had. The thing worked perfectly, except the screen was shot. Maybe I could use another for parts

i have the same camcoder with many tapes of my childhood but unfortunately both batteries are dead and cant find the direct DC power adapter in my country. Is there any solution to revive the batteries?

Unlikely -- you may be able to buy an aftermarket battery, however!

I have one and it has playback issues. I cant play back any tape on it. It worked for a short while....

You have to set the camera to vcr mode to review the tape

I just got one and it came with a 8mm tape loaded into it. If you're looking for like a specific one, the ones that came with mine were Maxell GX-MP 8mm tapes
