Anything she did to "help" Troy like the promotion and the college connections had clear ulterior motives. And how did Troy sell out his friends? When he got offered the job at the country club he asked if his friends could be hired too. And when he found out they would be forced to work during the talent show, he got his kitchen job back to stand by them. Chad threw a tantrum because Troy ignored him once and had the audacity to think about his future.
