Amen Amen AMEN!!!!! I had someone recently as me how much I charge for a garland, when I told her $150 she replied Oh my I didn't know they would be so expensive! She also said she had a pack of 100 balloons I could use... Then she inquired about a table garland, I told her 50.00 each. She was ok with that price but a few weeks ago told me her budget changed and cant afford the table garland. I kindly replied I understood and that I'll glady fulfill her initial sweets order. Some folks just don't know how much time an effort event planning takes and I'm that type that don't work for free either lol. You have been an inspiration to me for the longest. I can't tell you how many of your videos I watch before I made my 1st garland for my daughter's sweet 16 back in Oct. Literally gave me a run for my $ that day 😂. I’ve been ballooning for 13 years. I used to get discouraged when people would say you charge what? It’s just balloons. I know that I am good at my craft. People do NOT understand the labor involved with balloons. I agree, don’t sale yourself short. I have done that in the past....under selling myself. I incorporate mileage in my fee. You inspire me and I have definitely taken away some nuggets. Blessings!

I wish i could pay $150 for a garland i was quoted starting prices was $400 (basic garland) and that was for 3 colors not including delivery and set up. I’m learning to do it for my daughter gender reveal then baby shower next year. I just couldn’t pay approx 4-$800 for a 3 color garland that probably was thin as fuck

Great info! We can practice at home. Most people have no idea of the amount of work that goes into event design. You do amazing work!

This was a great vid. I am event Coordinator/Designer also, you hit the nail right on the head. Pricing has been a huge issue for me as well. You made some very key points about your time and worth. God knows when you have invested in your craft and gotten certified it feels horrible to walk away from an event that should have been several hundred dollars and you barely got a hundred. Over it! Thanks for your insight!! Keep moving forward! BTW I been following your journey for a long time and your designs speak for themselves! Great work!

Hey & Happy New Year LaKeisha! Thanks for this video. Lots of help here. So I just started the friends and family process. 1st one for someone else. A male cousin. Black, gold and white . 3 widths. It was huge and cute! Lots of compliments. Amen to not charging my worth. I was trying to think, as I stood back and looked at it, what would LaKeisha charge for this? I laughed when you said, "I don't charge $100 for balloon garlands." I was thinking the same thing. I pray for a way to ensure that I am charging appropriately when the time comes. How do you store your balloons like organise them and things? I sometimes bulk buy a few and end up with half bags open laying around mixed up 5" and 12" or orbz in with foil letters would like a way to organise and keep them neater any help is appreciated!x Love your channel and your little girly is the cutest!!x

I’m still a work in progress. But it is a fun ride. Learning as I go. I still haven’t pushed myself as hard as I should with event design because I enjoy it being fun. I’m nervous if I go to hard I won’t love it as much. I’m so happy my videos are helping you. Hi LaKeisha, new subscriber here! I’m just getting ready to start my business and have found your tutorials and business talks very informative. A few questions. When you first began (or even now) did you create an LLC? And secondly could you perhaps make a vlog about the things you’ve done wrong, lessons learned, things to avoid ? Hi Lakeisha! Since garlands are becoming more popular, you can buy inexpensive kits on Amazon and DIY. How are you handling those people who say, ‘ I can get a kit way cheaper on amazon’ and ‘how can you charge so much’? Thank you for your tutorials!

I have seen a kit that creates the same volume and size garlands as the one I offer. If someone says they can do it themselves with a kit for cheaper, my response would be “Do It Then” ... Everyone who inquired with you isn’t meant to be your client. 💕 I also don’t take clients who say they already have balloons. I purchase my own because I use quality balloons. If I use their cheap balloons and they start popping... guess who they are going to blame?

When you add flowers or leaves do you go back and collect those things to re-use for other events?

Depends on what I’m using. If it’s expensive greenery, I go back for it. If it’s something I factored into the price and they paid for it. I don’t go back.

Hello! Love your work. This might be a silly question but when you are quoting somebody for a organic garland, are you measuring the space? Have them measure it? Or are they just guesstimating. I’ve been under charging for garlands

Depends. They measure, but I’m not doing more than what they pay for. So if they decide to measure incorrect it’s on them. I always have extra balloons I they can pay for it to be longer if they want.

I have a question let’s say you have a one color 12ft Garland, largest ballon size is 12’ and smaller. What amount of ballon bags would u need to buy for each ballon size?

I would get one bag of each size for a 12” balloon garland. It would really depend on the style you are going for. I typically use 36”, 16”, 12” and 5”
