To answer your question Efra, ASEAN means Association of South East Asian Nations. (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar & the Phils.) These countries do these music festivals and some sporting events every 2 or 3 years; and each country send delegates to participate in these events to promote social and cultural development in the region.

They actually did Tilaluha next! You have to listen to it-their vocals were top-notch. I hope you react to all five songs. ASEAN stands for Association of South East Asian Nations, which includes the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Laos, Singapore and others (I can’t remember!)

FYI: Their outfit particularly their "Jacket" is, I believe a very modern version of formal wear for men called Barong Tagalog. The barong Tagalog (lit. "Tagalog dress"), more commonly known simply as barong (and occasionally baro), is an embroidered long-sleeved formal shirt for men and a national dress of the Philippines. Barong Tagalog combines elements from both the pre-colonial native Filipino and colonial Spanish clothing styles. It is traditionally made with sheer textiles (nipis) woven from piña or abacá; although in modern times, cheaper materials like organza silk, ramie, or polyester are also used. It is a common formal or semi-formal attire in Filipino culture and is worn untucked over an undershirt with belted trousers and dress shoes. SB19 had a smashing performance. The layers of their voices in Tilaluha and Mapa gave me goosebumps. And of course the nostalgic Go Up, the song that made them viral. They are as sharp as ever. Added info on their looks. Their shirts & jackets are modern barongs, the traditional/formal tops of men. As usual, I enjoyed your reaction.

It was actually raining lightly in the set that time (you could see the droplets zooming down through the strobe lights, but it's very faint). Fortunately it was a light rain and it didn't last through the whole performance. Funny enough, their next song after this was "Tilaluha" which is a word play that means "Stop Tears" and the word for "Stop" is actually the Filipino word we specifically use to describe "the rain lets up" (yes, we have a specific verb for this scenario).

6:15 So many choreographers, dance teachers/experts have already reviewed and reacted to their dance practice videos and performances and they say the same thing: SB19's musicality is insane! 6:51 SB19 didn't just want to make an impression in Korea or at the global scene for themselves. They are carrying the Philippine flag, representing the Filipino culture and arts, and acting as torch bearer for Original Filipino Music (OPM) in an international festiival. Time and time again, in their interviews, they've expressed their vision of breaking into the music scene and, eventually, paving the way for Philippine music to be heard around the world.

Can you actually believe that despite doing amazing in every aspects of their craft like stell making their choreographies, pablo or John paulo nase composing their songs, justin as their creative director an all rounder group they experience bashful comments and hates from their countrymen which makes us A'tin sad they don't deserve the hate and doubts from other people. I believe their work speak for themselves, they don't need to prove it because their work is very much visible. So amazing Mahalima.

Literally no one can cover this song live easily. See how intense this song is and the choreography that Sb19 gives with their songs. You will surely find it difficult to imitate their energy during this Live. That's why I have to say that this group is one of a kind in this world. I've never seen a band that could play intensely live with stable vocals like this. Are they even real. I'm sure they are one of the best out there.

Watching this again from the Feature Friday special. Totally agree that this song is like a hybrid on its own. I believe it somehow catapulted the new era of PPOP as a genre. And yes, it’s one of the best performances of this song. Same with Tilaluha and Mapa. Please check them all out, too! ✌️

I agree with you Waleska. This is probably the best live dance performance of the group overall. I mean, the choreography and the vocals are top notch! However, all of their other performances here are equally great. I hope you can check them all out. Also, perhaps it's also time to check some of their dance practices. You may start with GO UP DANCE PRACTICE which started their popularity in 2019 when it became viral. Then WHAT DANCE PRACTICE. Stell is their main choreographer. If you watch WHAT MV MAKING FILM episode 2, you can see how the choreography was made. Stell had a breakdown because of the pressure. 😭

I guess it's time for you to check out their WHAT MAKING FILM with 5 episodes. Even if you don't react to them and just watch at your own time. We just want you to get to know them better as artists and make a rationale behind the bashings they are getting from Filipinos esp. those who stan Kpop (you know who). They compose their own songs (ideas were collaborations but lyrics are all written by Pablo), choreograph their dances (Stell is the main choreographer and members would contribute with the adlibs), they conceptualize their MVs (they brainstorm as a group but Justin is the creative director for the MV). And would you believe, they record their songs NOT in a REAL studio but at Pablo's house (makeshift recording studio) that their neighbors memorized their song before they even release them. I would love to hear a little of your thoughts about them. After that, perhaps you'll understand why we love these boys so much.
