Hello! I loved this video, I just have some questions that could help me improve my nail art! I have a lot of nail polish, but when do you think is time to get rid of old ones? Is there something in specific? In your opinion, what do you think the best top coat, and matte top coat is... I have both, however I’d just like to know which one works best in your opinion. I’d say my nails always grow out in a nice shape, however my friend asked me a question I didn’t know the answer to... How often should you file your nails, to get them in a good shape, but still not weakening your nails? Thank you so much, you don’t have to answer all of the questions, I’m just curios. Have a marvellous day! 🦋

Hi! All polish has a shelf life. Around 18 months. However as long as they are mixed well every now and then, you can get longer out of a bottle. When the consistency or ease of painting changes - it's time to bin it. I only use Gelish. So I use the top coat and matte from this brand. If you simply shaping the free egde, so long as your are using nothing harsher than a 240 or 180 grit file, filing either in one direction only or side to centre, side to centre, you will not damage the nail and can file as needed. It is the sawing motion back and forth and filing or buffing of the top of the nail plate that will weaken them. Hope this helps.

I've used this technique a few times, but my top coat turns all my pink Sharpie art orange! 🙁 Any ideas?

Hmm..... I have pink sharpie art on my nails at the moment and it's been at least 2 weeks now. They still look brand new, and pink! Does it change immediately, or after more exposure to sunlight? Maybe try another brand of top coat?

@@nailnovice8781 Yes, it changes to orange the moment the gel top coat hits it. I will try a different top coat! ☺️
