The concept for ‘Is It Really You?’ stemmed from an anonymous short story we had stumbled across long before the initial process for the record had begun. The band Loathe has said of this song: The basis revolves around a recurring dream which takes place in an idyllic setting of relevance, surrounded by passersby. You exist within the dream, night after night - until a change occurs, from the crowd a voice softly asks “Is it really you?”. The phrase struck such a chord within us that we held onto it for almost a year before it realized itself.

This is so surreal in rehab 2 years ago I had 3 or 4 dreams back to back about someone I'd never met she was literally the most beautiful human I'd ever imagined could exist I thought it was only a dream well fast forward awhile and someone new starts at work I hear about her all the time but hadn't met her yet I'd only worked with her brother afew times well awhile later we finally meet and it's literally her the woman from my dreams everything was exactly the same the hair color the piercings even the tattoos and her smile that lit my soul from the moment I saw it well turns out she has severe bpd as do I and every person that isn't family has left in her life I have this overwhelming urge to be the one person that stays no matter what but we go through the bpd relationship cycle of breaking up and getting back together before our last break up I found this song but hadn't seen this comment I showed it to her and said if you can put up with me long enough and we get married I want this to be our first dance at our wedding well we end up breaking up again and I find this comment I had no idea that it was about that it almost feels cruel in a way for the universe to align our paths in such a way and fir this particular song to make such an impact on both of us and it feature my fav band who's songs iv sang fir her and played for her throughout our time together I feel there's a sort of sick irony there but like I said iv felt the overwhelming urge to not give up on all of it to fight as hard as I can for it thank you fir leaving this comment it helped me in a way just thought it was a crazy coincidence I'd share

What used to be a very dark and sad song for me, has now turned into a song of recollection and happiness. In June of 2024 I was going through a very rough breakup with my first ever real true love. After the breakup I was in a very deep spot and found myself considering suicide. I listened to this song while going 95mph trying to find something to crash into. I couldn’t do it. I was a wreck. I finally sought out help and got the help I needed. Now I come back to this song every now and then to see how far I’ve come and it never fails to fill me with happiness looking back vs where I’m at today. In late August of 2018, I found out that a dear friend of mine from middle school had passed away earlier that year, in April. He had taken his own life. He was fifteen. And some days are better than others. But then again, some days are worse than others. It's been a little over four years now since he passed, but I still see him. Occasionally, when I'm out in public, I'll swear to every God above that I saw him, if only for a moment. And some nights, I have those very vivid dreams that he's still alive, that his death was all just a cruel joke. Those are the dreams that, when I wake up from them, my heart shatters just like it did the day I found out. But in those dreams, I always ask the same thing, one simple question: "Is it really you?"

I was late to to Sleep Token party and boy do I wish I found them sooner. I recently watched lost my mom a couple years ago and when I tell you they have helped me navigate my grief... what I would give to hug each of them. Music is truly a gift. This song just wrecks me. During those long nights in the hospital room during Covid I would tell mom how beautiful stars looked and how the city skyline looked like stars...
