This was one of the best publications on TV. I salute the millers.

This film nor book has no affiliation with Fred Miller and his family featured on CBS’s 60 Minutes.

This is true. They are all descendants of Sarah Miller. Fred Miller purchased the home and it is amazing how he tracked his history! Mr. Lanier, Sarah's great grandson, knew her and began with a book from her memoirs. I love how her legacy and blood line is flourishing in this country. I am sure she has other descendants doing amazing things.

This is not accurate!! Who are these people. They are not affiliated with the Miller family who purchased Sharswood that were featured on 60 minutes. There are elders in the family that remember Sarah Miller.

@@ressieluck8433 One day we will all be better than believing only the first thing we see. Do all of your great great grandmother's children live, know and work with each other? All decedents of Sarah Miller. Hope you enjoy the series.

You do know that everyone has their own stories!!! I am part of the Miller Family. My grandfather is Robert Miller (rip) Anyhow I’m excited to hear ALL OF THE STORIES!!

How dare them piggyback on the Sarah Miller and Sharswood of the family of Fred Miller. Even the picture of this person's Sarah Miller looks different than Fred's Sarah Miller. Also, while it may be true that their ancestors might have worked in Sharswood, along with Fred's ancestors--they may not be necessarily related. They share the same post-emancipation surname simply because they had the same emancipator.

It is the same family. Violet Miller, who they were searching for on the Slave registry after purchasing the house, is the mother of Sarah Miller. It's a beautiful, sad but beautiful story. Mr. Lanier has his great grand mother's writings. It is actually beautiful how it came together.

@@banzaisbanza Thank you! And yes, the family that lived on the Sharswood Plantation were blessed with a large family. Their branches were wide. Both families are descendants of Sarah Miller.

Your family is one of the few, that can trace their heritage back two or more generations. This should not be the end, but the beginning, for all of us. You can trace your heritage, it is not colored or black, people are not colors. Look on Sarah’s mother’s certificate of birth, or further back, (nothing new under the sun) and see their origin, because theirs may be the rest of ours, or at least a starting point for some. There is no way physically possible these people bought millions or even thousands of people from Africa here with what they were sailing, and the space on the ships, it’s a lie, but why? We know the land was invaded, so why hide anything else when it comes to this place, and why change the peoples names to colors, instead of Europeans, Portuguese, Spanish etc. what was the real purpose? The Origin of your people, may answer those questions

It's the same family. It is Fred's great great grand mother Sarah and Mr. Lanier's great grandmother. Fred and is family learned of her through records. Mr. Lanier has her memoirs. Its actually a beautiful story.

Sue, we're not sure how large your family is. But Sarah Miller had 8 children. The family you saw on 60 minutes were her great great grand children also. Please be careful and do a little research. God Bless.

@@SharswoodProductions497 Yes, we have to do better at understanding history and how it works. We span far and wide. This is amazing.

There are hundreds of Millers. I’m part of the family but I’m from NC! This doesn’t mean that they are impostors.
