Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

Best fig of the year for me is NECA's Trick R Treat Ultimate Sam. Tons of accessories, 100% new sculpt, great articulation for such a small figure, and as a fan of the film, it ticked all the boxes for me. Packaging's beautiful too, a must for any horror or NECA collection

Not all of these came out this year... many in fact didn't, but these are my top 10 that I got this year. 10. SoC Dragonzord - Dragonzord has always been my favorite mecha, the Green Ranger my favorite Ranger, so I knew I wanted to own this piece one day. I finally found him for a price I thought was fair (took a lot of patience... patience is tough) and when he arrived I was not disappointed. He still feels very much like a toy, but a really great toy. The tail is poseable and holds its pose, which is something the Legacy line couldn't really pull off. It feels like I could get more posability out of the Legacy's legs at times, but the SoC makes up for it with an ab crunch. He's an amazing compliment to any Green Ranger figure and I love having him displayed on the shelf. 9. X-Wing Uniform Luke Skywalker - I don't have a lot of Star Wars stuff on the shelf, but I've always loved this look for Luke. I found it for $9 in Target clearance and almost bought 2. 8. Uncle Scrooge - Phat Mojo's Ducktales line is not great, but for whatever reason I do love this Uncle Scrooge. I think because of the colors (OG Comic, video game and new cartoon which I think is amazing) and my life long love of the character makes me really enjoy playing around with this character. Posing him on the shelf alongside Batman and Ironman (Billionaires club) is the reason why I love this hobby so much. Plus the whole line came with some great accessories that scale perfectly with a lot of 5"-6" figures. 7. Lightning Collection - I'll admit I only buy the MMPR stuff (and I may get some Zeo stuff if the mood strikes me) but Goldar and Zedd are the most impressive by far, I doubt many would argue with that. The whole line is just incredible to see. Power Rangers always got short changed by BoA and once Hasbro had the reigns they went wild. It's been... like 7 months since these started coming out, give or take and there are already a ton of figures out with more and more on the way. The paint aps have been a bit spotty, but I enjoy working on projects like that, so while I understand many seeing it as a negative, I am looking forward to having all 7 MMPR rangers so I can do touch ups on them all at the same time. Also the Dragon Shield is awesome and fits great on many figures of this scale, which is fun for display purposes. 6. WW2 Captain America - The moment I saw this guy I knew I needed to get him. I love painting my toys, but don't do it as often as I used to. This one though, looked like such a great project to work on. The bike, the leather bags, the helmet and super hero army uniform all got black washes and mud washes and silver washes for the bike and shield and helmet and so on and so forth and now I have a figure on my shelf that cost $40 but looks like a high end collectors item. It ended up being a on of fun AND I found out later that his helmet fits perfectly on a little Squirtle figure I had. So now Cap is riding with the squad. 5. Hulk/Ironman/Thor - I'm going to include all 3 here because these where the 3 I've been waiting for for a long time. My Avengers shelf was pretty great, but missing classic reps of these 3 for years. I used movie stand ins for Hulk and Ironman and the all father Thor (with a great repaint that I had done to bring him closer to his classic colors) but these were the figures I really wanted. 4. Vintage Scarlet Spider - I know this is just a repaint, but I went hunting for him for months and months. The relief of finally finding him at a Walgreens while on vacation was intense. He was the longest hunt I'd gone on in a long time. And he's a cool figure of a character I loved reading about when I was a kid. 3. Storm - She completes the X-Men for me and my collection and I'm very happy about that. I finally have the full team I was looking to bring together on my shelf. Her head is a little too heavy and falls back, but I usually having her flying anyway, so that makes for a good spot to stick the stand. I love the thunder effects too, these things can come with every character as far as I'm concerned, even ones where it makes no sense. As the lighting collection has been showing, they look good on a lot of different characters. 2. Basic Broly - My brother got this for me for xmas after I told him how cool I thought it looked in passing. What a fella. This also happens to be, in my opinion, the best figure SHF has ever done. As much as I love the line, a lot of that love comes from the fact that DBZ is one of my favorite franchises ever. A lot of these toys feel fragile, and are with tiny pegs and holes and fancy articulation. But Broly, and I mean this as a compliment in every way, feels like a $20 figure. With all the the razz-a-mataz you'd expect from a $60 figure. He's certainly #1 for new 2019 figures for me, but he's not #1 on my list. 1. SoC Megazord - after 12 years, I finally paid off my student loans. I bought this with the first paycheck where 0% went to loans. He's as much a trophy to that hard work as he is a truly incredible action figure of my favorite toy ever. Are there problems with it? Yeah, but I think this is as close to perfect as we'll ever get for a combining Megazord. Prove me wrong, Hasbro! I'll buy that one too!

How well does the Mezco Homecoming Spidey’s suit hold up in poses? I’m worried about losing mine because I don’t want the red or anything to tear, it has a small tear at the neck but it doesn’t bother me. Just want to know if it’d be safe to keep in an action pose for an extended period of time.

Pocket Toys not War Giant KO - Not sure when it came out and yeah, its a KO. I cant do 70$ for a legends, but I can do 60$ for five, that combine. Marvel Legends Beast - Childhood favorite and executed in such a way that should be the new standard. 52 toys Rumblebeat - Its a box, its a bird, simple yet really damn expressive . WFC Soundwave - And his minions as well. WFC Impactor WFC Prime Marvel Legends Blink -Loved the elf since Age of Apocalypse and Exiles, so getting her in legends form was awesome. I did a post about this on my Instagram. You've replied to me a few times which is cool. Here's a copy/paste of what I wrote: So we end the year. Let's cap it off with my list of favorite figures for 2019. 1st. There was never any question that jazwares peely would take the top. Reminding me of those flip o' Ramas I would draw way back in 4th and 5th grade. This hits me right in the feelys. 2nd. That amazing yamaguchi iron man sure was yamaguchi. So much posing. So much range. I have to really be committed to pay that extra for an import but I never regretted it with this fine piece of plastic. Plus bonus points for being my wife favorite avenger. 3rd. This is my guy. Marvel legends colossus. He has always been my favorite xmen. And now he has a figure that does him justice. My gold team is closer to completion and this guy is right at the center. 4th. Hello there. Its general grevious. Four arms. Four sabers. Fourth place. The first of the deluxe black series figure. The figure shines with a completely unique sculpt, tons of accessories, and that sweet cloth cape. 5th. It's the myth. The legend. The big time bad ass spiderman. This 80th anniversary figure was expected but I sure love having sharts main squeeze in my collection. 6th. Hulkamania will never rest. This big green beefy boi took forever to find but he has really made my avengers display complete. Let's forget about that subpar wolverine. This guy was worth every penny. 7th. Boba fetts prices were astronomical when the archive rereleased was set up. Ot, prequel, sequel. This tease has set the bar for all mysterious bad guys. The empire is stronger with bounty hunters like this on board. 8th. From the final movie in marvel phase 3, Mysterio. Not much of an mcu collector, but this guy was too good. A little small for my taste but the details on this figure rock. The armor, the cape, the fish bowl. So much detail. 9th goes to my second overwatch bae, mercy. Or better know as Murphy. This gal was another unexpected hit. She just edged out phara. A blonde angel with a staff and a gun. And wings. And a stand... this girl has alot. 10th. Last but not least. Honor, glory, Reinhardt. Reinhardt! Reinhardt!!! This huge guy came with a huge hammer and an even bigger shield.This guy feels like a tank. #marvellegends #starwars #overwatch
