शशि कपूर के बारे में कहा जाता था कि वो अपने ज़माने में भारतीय फ़िल्म जगत के सबसे हैंडसम फ़िल्म अभिनेता थे. शशि कपूर ने 1953 से 1960 तक अपने पिता पृथ्वीराज कपूर के साथ पृथ्वी थियेटर में काम किया. इसी दौरान उनकी मुलाकात जैनिफ़र केंडल से हुई. वो उनसे चार साल बड़ी थीं. निफ़र के पिता ज्योफ़री को ये रिश्ता पसंद नहीं था. शशि के जैनिफ़र से विवाह में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई शशि कपूर की भाभी और शम्मी कपूर की पत्नी गीता बाली ने. शशि कपूर का बहुत नाम हुआ जब उन्होंने अमिताभ बच्चन के साथ दीवार फ़िल्म की. विवेचना में रेहान फ़ज़ल बता रहे हैं शशि कपूर के किस्से.

Most people will say Shashi Kapoor was a better actor over all. Amitabh was cashing his angry young man image repeatedly which happened to be popular among viewers at that time. Yes I do agree, his looks his style and his way of delivering dialogue all were fabulous. His nature was also very lovely as he was very helpful, he helped Amitji and in some of the movies Director tried to show other actors dominant and Shashiji's role was smaller but still he did those roles.
