India had higher wages than South Korea in 1947. 70 million India people have died of starvation in India since 1947. The Japanese "terror famine" tactic was the main cause of the Bengal famine and fellow Indian's refusing to give their food to the Bengal people as they wanted to make a profit from selling it at a higher price . It is millionaire's and Billionaire's like Shashi Tharoor are the cause of all the poverty in India today.

Hello Jacob I think you've made a mistake while studying the history. The cause was different it was because of Winston Churchill who deliberately refuses to let the people of bengal have their own food and instead of that he sends the food to Britain as stockpile. It was certainly a British induced famine. And when British officials wrote to Churchill that people were dying because of this decision, he wrote peevishly on the margin "Why Gandhi has not died yet". And you will say that people like Shashi tharoor is the reason for famine. India shared 23% of world economy when British arrives on it's shore, by the time they left it becomes 4% magically and you will still say that people like Shashi tharoor is the reason why famine was induced. And you will get to know that violence and racism was the reality of colonial experience. I would like to suggest you to read about the jalianwalabagh massacre which had take place in punjab Amritsar. For your knowledge Indians have always been great at forgetting and forgiving so do not worry. Hope your soul will find peace.🌼

Otherwise why India's british officials were wrote to churchil that people were dying in the streets for your decision and he replied with "Why Gandhi has not died yet". We consider churchill as a with handful of blood just like Hitler and Stalin. I think you have never read the the history of British colonised india. You should read about the Jalianwalabagh massacre which took place in the order of general Dyer another devil. And so called civilised empire had honoured him after that. And many governors of india have looted this nation, yet they have got very tragic death as a result of karma. I know that Britishers never label their bad deed as it is they always have something to up with. You can visit the mosques made my mughals there you can see that the governors have looted the mosques in the name of repairing. They used to call india the golden bird and what do you think?
