The Journey Part 10
My journey takes me to Tanjore where I had first heard about the Tanjore dancers from Dr Gnaanaa Kulendran, former Professor and HOD and Tanjore Tamil University. She shares her stories about Raja Raja Cholan and the Tamil hereditary behind Bharathanatyam. Her Book Music and Dance in the Thanjavur Big temple will be available through Shastram next year. Stay tuned and follow us to be alerted of the release of the book.

The narration is a good explanation for Silappathikaaram. Dr Gnna Kulendran's explanation clarified a lot of detail about Mathalvi's dance pauses. Even the musical used on those days. Paramparai muramai, Theva adiyaarkal system..... it is an eye opening clip. I saved and I have to to watch time and again.
