The video is about 'Rookie' first player, Caps second one and 'Faker' third one. And their losses at international stages and their own inner struggle to overcome. The Champions chosen for this video are also related to that. Faker lost on his 'Karma' in 2017 finals against SSG. Rookie lost on his 'Lissandra' in MSI and Caps lost on his 'Irelia' in 2018 worlds final to IG. So in this tournament Faker is trying to regain his champion tittle, Rookie trying to defend his, and Caps trying to win one for the 1st time.

Caps also has like two known sides of him - 'Claps' which just destroys opponents and carries the game, and the other one - 'Craps' which just completely losses the game and can't do anything. I think the parts about him can show the struggle between these two personas, and how he tries to destroy 'Craps'

To elaborate on a mistake you have, just for clarification purposes. IG Rookie’s Lissandra was to trace back to IG first appearance at Worlds. They were slotted in the seemingly the easiest groups to qualify for quarterfinals. IG expectations were high, but disappointedly did not deliver. The only game IG performed their best was Rookie playing Lissandra hard carrying the game. As for contributing to the meaning of the video, had Rookie played Lissandra in all of their games, they would’ve gone past groups reaching farther into the tournament.

This is my favourite worlds song up to date. The live performance was stellar, the hype video in it was amazing. What makes this video the best one for me, is the fact that we look only at the succeses of these players, instead of their failures and what they learned from those mistakes as well. A pro player is their failures and succeses together. This video depicts that. The ending, where the pro's walk with the normals like us, is extra motivation for aspiring players to embrace our failures as well and to learn from them. Truly fcking amazing

You have to react to As We Fall by League of Legends too, which tell's Varus's backstory! It's amazing how a concept for a music video that could have easily turned into a body horror video was instead made into a beautiful acid trip kind of video! Though I would recommend looking up the comic too, even if just in your own time. They designed Varus's story to start in a comic, then it goes into the music video, then back into the comic, and it was such an amazing and creative method of telling his story. Also, if you haven't attempted it yet, I know I would love to see you react to the Warriors by Imagine Dragons video, but apparently it's own by a different company, and they'll most likely take it down. Joey (Lucky Boy) Nato ran into that issue, but all other songs and videos I think will be fine.

Hey SFP, below is a comment on the original video that explains why the characters were chosen: Rookie's Lissandra (Ice lady that´s shown first in the video) - 2015 World's in EU, IG finished last in their groups, defeated by FNC, AHQ, and C9(posters in the subway), one of the "easiest" groups back then. His beautiful Lissandra performance won their last game vs C9, but it was filled with desperate, regret, and shame. It was LPL's worst year ever and he received A LOT of hate comments together with every other LPL player. The "genius mid"- GodV from 1st seed LGD changed his ID then finally retired afterwards due to the never-ending storm of hate comments. It was Rookie's 1st season in the LPL and it was the start of his 3yr disappearance from the world stage - the lowest moment in his career. 2nd theory: 2018 World's quarterfinals, 3rd game vs KT Rolster, he failed to defend the base and IG lost the game by 2 autos on the Nexus. Caps' Irelia (Lady with the knives) - 2018 World's FNC lost to IG, he went 0-4 then 1-6 on one of his best champ Irelia, and FNC got completely destroyed in the next two games as well. We all knew how confident Caps had been in the tournament and he did flex on various midlaners before the final, so it was huge destruction for him. Faker's Karma (The girl throwing magic) - 2017 World's SKT lost to SSG, in that ardent sensor meta, he picked Karma to fully support Bang. Being 0-2 but 4 drakes ahead in game 3, there was still hope for SKT. However, in the last fight, his misposition got caught by Ruler's Varus Flash+R and lost the game, and that is one of the direct reasons why he cried at the end. Now that he is back in the spotlight again, and he knows that there's only one enemy to him - the one watching behind the media crowd. These are the monsters in their heads. They need to fight these bad memories to become the real King this year!

I love the way you can see certain details and information just by watching the video. Although the people behind the making of the video do deserve a lot of credit to use the visuals and music to relate all that information, it highlights your ability to understand and analyse everything. Especially how each of them deal with different problems: the pressure from the fans, the pressure from the competition, the pressure from the press. But no matter how strong the pressure is, the worst enemy they give birth to, is still yourself.

People are hating on the song because they don't get the story of it(all 3 of them having to go trough the negativety that followes after a loss on a big event), because the song is "less hype" than Rise for example, and also because the visuals are not good, clean 3D models. I've even heard people going as far as calling Riot lazy because they used real pros in the scenes instead of 3D models. Like... Common.. The ammount of 2d,hand drawn animations in this video probably took far more time and work than running a computer script in a 3d program.

You need to know that this World's song was in a difficult position to be recieved. Basically, the KZbin sound isn't as good as the Soundcloud version, for starter. Then, it's called "Phoenix", like one of the favorite team of 2019; who ended up wining. So it's a bit like scripted Phoenix song for a phoenix team while the legend players had the impossible task to rise again ... Difficult stuff. But look at the opening ceremony of those 2019 Worlds; it's was done in the Stade de France arena, as the Worlds final was in Paris / you can also see the Eiffel Tower/paris in Giants, same year. 2020'S Worlds are in China; but due to Covid, it will only be in Shanghai instead of several cities for each steps of the tournament. ALSO, as it is the 10th anniversary of the Worlds; it's supposed to be a legendary ceremony. DON'T MISS IT ! 2021, was suposed to be in the North America region, but sorry, it gets back to China exceptionnally for the "tour" style tournament; then 2022 will effectivly be in the USA.

I really appreciate your diving into the Art in these videos. I believe a few reasons for the poor reception of "Phoenix" were, for one, that it competed with the Hype around "Rise" which is a really tough act to follow, especially because it is so loved by the community. Another could be the rather mellow vibe of the song because people like to get pumped up for worlds and this song way more self-reflective and somber in parts. A third could actually be the quality of the sound mixing in the KZbin version of the song. I do no know if it is fixed at this point in time, but when it was originally released, the audio quality was severely lacking compared to the version on Soundcloud. Personally, I like it just fine. Not my favourite but nowhere near the bottom. I actually would love to play with you at some point as well, especially because I really like playing with legitimate new players and seeing them learn the ropes gradually. (Trouble is, most of the advice you get from your fanbase is probably confusing and actually detrimental for you, If I would wager a guess, simply because of the reason you get advice from so many different points of view, but as long as you have fun that doesn't matter, really :D ) However, I am located in EUWest and Playing on the NA servers is akin to walking a marathon in size 400 Shoes or with the ground covered in molasses :D

It is definitely worth seeing, maybe you could do a video about it. speaking of Scarecrow...I would LOVE to see how you think about League's two little horror themed cinematic trailers. they are both short but do a fantastic job with cinematography. short enough that doing both in the same video is probably a ood idea.if you wanna know what they are called: -the Wrath of Zaun. -Terror in Demacia. very short, very atmospheric, and both are in a first person view, the best way to show something scary. ^^

the reason why all of this gets poorly reception is because the worlds is the biggest tournement of the year, every year, each team prepares for the best to compete againts each other for the most people "worlds" is about competition, not about overcoming inner problems, while rise was able to pull that adrenalin to getting to the top of the mountain , phoenix says "stay calm, you got this" which feels a bit odd for competition for being the best in that year... but you are right, the animation and the music is one of the best they ever made

Caps is a really good player, his problem is himself. He plays super solid and sometimes on a level unrivalled by no others, then he is called Claps and then he has games where he plays utter trash and he gets called Craps. He struggles with consistency to stay at the highest level. Due to him being on a really good team, most of the time the team can fix it but not everytime

My brother, cousin, and I all agree Phoenix is a great song with a very nice music video, however we don’t feel this is a World’s worthy song. When we think of the major competition for the cup, we expect a song to pump us up for League. Phoenix feels too lax, in my opinion, and doesn’t have enough ‘oomph’ to make me excited to play League.

It's "hated" because it's not hype enough compared to RISE and Warriors by Imagine Dragons. These are the most revered anthems by the community. Especially Warriors is the pinnacle of Worlds anthems. It's a good song but the comparison is unjust. You gotta look at all anthems by themself and not rate one over another.
