Eddie Hemmings and Mike Stephenson your eyes must be painted on. After watching many of these GB V Aussie tests these 2 are the most biased commentators in international sport.
@jonrichardson84617 ай бұрын
They are biased, don’t hide it, but Stevo is actually pretty fair minded about referencing decisions and in the end doesn’t blame the refs for all the British losses. I lived in the UK in the 90s and remember watching these matches and Australia winning all the time and it was fun to hear Stevo and Eddie get frustrated. But ultimately Stevo in particular was a straight shooting Yorkshireman.

Bloody hell Eddy😆first 2 gb tries were suspect forward pass and offside front of kicker which he clearly dismisses by saying doesn't matter tmo says TRY, then rants on @41:02 about a potential knock on by which is obscured by view by an arm simultaneously during the act of scoring.......then he offers as backup to listen to the crowd, who are a fair few are well intoxicated and bias to the on field ruling for Australia right or wrong.🤣

@M rugby league is the greatest sport on Earth with over 4 Billion fans and massively popular in over 240 countries including dependencies. soccer/football is only popular in 4 countries. Its a minority sport in the UK, France etc. rugby league will always be the number 1 sport in Australia

@M your reply has absolutely nothing to do with the subject on hand yet here we go again another leg flop hooligan manages to stick his 2cent in on how worldwide popular soccer is. well NO Shit Sherlock do you and Captain Obvious need a pat on the back or maybe roomful of gentlemen golf 👏 Lol and that 2050 prediction well highly doubt it hard to go pass Aussie Rules or cricket etc plus soccer has been in Australia since 1880 so if it hasn't been #1 yet it probably won't happen in the next 28 years either. Only way I see it going #1 in Australia 🇦🇺 is if the Socceroos win the world cup and what's the chances of that happening??? Low% are my guess.

Entertaining game. Not a bad Aussie team but only two would get into the great teams of 1982 and 1986 for sure - Lockyer and Webcke, with Kimmorley a place on the bench and maybe Buderus.

Basically the British supporters and commentators are screaming about is give us a British ref so he can cheat instead of the cheating Aussie ref. Hilarious!

i like senior in the brits team his one handed passes are a treat for the aussies. they are always dropped. and the reason is . 1 unexpected 2 they are quicker than normal 3 trajectory is different,4 they do not arrive at the sweet spot to catch 5 he passes as a ;last resort so they are out of left field in broken play. in short he should have been coached out of them long ago.

Sometimes with Australia, especially since the late 1970s, we haven't always been the superior team on the field, but its been our superior fitness and ability to play out the full 80 minutes at a more sustained pace that has kept us from losing too many times. I mean, since 1978's shock series loss to France at the end of the Kangaroo Tour, we've only lost the 2005 Tri-Nations to NZ, the 2008 World Cup to NZ and both the 2010 and 2014 Four Nations, also to the Kiwis. We've won every other tournament in that time that we played, and we have not lost a test series in that time and it wasn't always because we were that much better, often it was just that we we that much fitter.
@St_AngusYoung2 жыл бұрын
I would also add mentally stronger than everyone else. As a Kiwi there have been quite a few times when we were in games against the Aussies, only for us to have a mental lapse and the Roos would pounce and punish the Kiwis. The All Blacks were very similar in that regard.
@Holden3082 жыл бұрын
@@St_AngusYoung ... sometimes too, especially with the Kiwis, they went out there not trying to win a football game, but win a fight. The 1988 World Cup Final was a prime example. 12 months earlier they'd beaten Australia in Brisbane by playing football. But that day at Eden Park players like Gary Freeman, Dean Bell, Clayton Friend and Kurt Sorenson threw out Tony Gordon's game plan and tried to bash the Aussie's out of it. Australia led 21-0 at half time and won 25-12 with NZ's only tries (one each to the Iro brothers) coming in the last 8 minutes.

These three games showed that GB couldn't win the ashes back with what was a better team for most of the series! Like the allblacks went through after their first world cup. Only this psychological block has gone on for generations. The only British people that have seen an ashes victory at home are now in their seventies at least! Presuming they were children back in 1959! Most are in their 80s!

Every year since 1982 NSW and QLD have smashed the crap out of each other in usually ultra close ,ultra competitive games that go right down to the wire. State of Origin is faster, tougher and more skill full than Test matches . Out of those two sides you pick one and good luck beating them, It's a level up. I think he best option is to bring as many English players to the NRL as you can.
@matthewconnor68174 жыл бұрын
@@ZIGSVIDS we got close in the early 90s when most of the GB players selected played for Wigan so were used to playing together. Now with the salary cap and constant threat of big rah-rah paydays diluting talent so much, the gulf is massive. imagine SL mid-table fodder like Wakefield or Hull KR in NRL.. it’d be a massacre every week
@gloryglory56882 жыл бұрын
Better team? Gee you blokes have yourselves on, if it’s not shit like you just said it’s “at least our forwards are better” 😂😂 where do you imagine this shit? The results just don’t reflect that, for years, for years, for years, for years………….
