The 4WD 24/7 crew did a USA tour last year taking their trucks through the Rubicon, Moab, Colorado and other testing grounds. Needless to say, the trucks took a beating, so Shauno left his Dirty30 with us for a tune-up and some much needed upgrades. Enjoy this episode as we prep this legendary LandCruiser for their 2024 USA tour!
Follow 24/7 4WD for CRAZY off-road adventures and challenges around the globe.

Brilliant. This was just hovering around my YT feed as I subscribe to 4WD 24/7 and I’m sooo glad I watched. Yes, Shauno was a really happy customer but I was very impressed with the upgrades here. The Dirty 30 (didn’t know why it was called that so thanks) is going to be a completely different car. Be interesting to see how the flex is impacted, but a lot of 4WDing is about keeping the axles level. Looks a great workshop with plenty of fun and serious vehicles. Also, loads of great knowledge there and amazing skill. Well described by the owner (sorry I didn’t hear his name) and respect to the Gerard Butler lookalike who did the work. His welding and fabricating are awesome! Wow!

Gotta say guys, I think I have to eat my words!!! The more research I do into this setup you have done on Shauno's rig and also some time under my own mods on my 80s with a similar sway bar setup to Shauno's old one you replaced, has me more and more impressed with what you guys did! I have been looking at Design Fabs site etc, the only negative vs the old I can now see is cost to buy and then especially here finding someone that can do what you guys do to set it up, which even then would not be without significant cost, unfortunately here we really pay big time even for basic things, not saying you guys are cheap, but clearly its balanced, here if you want it you pay what they charge real or otherwise. It definitely looks cleaner, can see the benefits, may one one day I'll do it, still don't have my front setup as well as stock off road and while better on road!, too much tension somehow with that 30mm SP sway Bar, I use superior extensions rather than the H Patter extension bracket Shauno had that you guys loved so much lol. Brand: Superior Engineering Product ID: 33524. Id probably do the rear first its pretty straight forward, the front def looks tricky and watching some of you other vids, def keen to see more 80s builds on your channel, that 3link one earlier was also sick work. Also the Anti rock is now available downunder, so Shauno if need be is covered, so that concern is probably nulled as well, not sure what heim joint links he used at the rear but Id say probably Rampt Customs also make some seriously trick parts. Loved to know what Universal kits you used front and rear, if at all possible. Anyways you have made a believer out of me, guess do ya research first huh. Really want to see how, the D30 goes on the next US episode 24/7 do over there, now, 6000lbs of weight, missed that the first time, sheesh Shauno must have a water bed and bath in the back as well, no wonder he gets such impressive wheel lifts and parks on his side so much, 🤣 Mines no pure rock crawler, Id be lucky to be near 4000lbs in fact 3500 would be more like it, though without stopping at a Supamarket or hunting off the land, I couldn't live out of it for months, so fair call to digger! Anyways cheers lads, epic work🤘.

Good description of the Dirty30 drive train. Advise Shaun of a little trick used on Rover Discovery, Lexus 4x4 and Toyota 4x4 with the front twin radius arm design. If one takes out the front bolt on the drivers side, this lets the truck articulate quite a bit further. Some put a pin into that hole for on-road driving and remove it for off-road. It is so good to see the everyday Shaun, not the one in the video-long sales pitches.

D30 is a legend, only 2nd to Sooty, but here's a question for ya, I got the sledge btw so firing one back @ ya🤣 If the steering box is on the wrong side, why is it referred to the right side, eg right hand drive, right side eh, eh🤪 Superior is awesome btw, have it on my 80s, I'm upgrading my steering box at the mo with a big Pitman arm and shaft, don't know if I can bring myself to put a Nissan part on the big girl! They are sic though, except its like Kirk Lazarus said (TT) I know what's a Nissan box is. I'm the patrol box playin' the Cruiser box, disguised as Cruiser box on Cruiser! just don't mention the mushroom bushings on a Nissan to a Patrol owner! They go full re tard at that joke and as Kirk Lazarus also says know ya never go full re tard! 🤣 Great fab work and looks sic, the only issue you have now with the front sway bar, is what Shauno had was the 92 -97 LC 80 chassis mount bracket setup, cheap strong and last for years, those L shaped bush are available at any Toyota dealer worldwide and especially in Aussie and NZ, he's used a common cheap but effective extension H bracket to correct the sway angle I use Superior CNC block extensions much better, quality and strength, that's blue sway bar is a 30mm Superpro bar, its 10 times better than the factory sway bar for stability, that shouldn't have been the issue with steering or stability at the front end, bushes and links are overnight anywhere here, so while this will look sic and will function well, its way more complicated with way more failure points and replacement parts, you probably have just made it more vulnerable to fix if something does go wrong if the DTY 30 comes back to Aussie and the Outback aint like America where a a Napa or Autozone is every 10 minutes away, JMO sometimes simple is better, esp in Aus. The rear end looks sic the fab and the welds and tubes is next level, the rear Id def consider, front looks very exposed for logs, rocks and big ruts, at the front if you don't get the brackets right with stock chassis mounts links, it can be tights just got to get that right and there's heaps of options to match the lift travel, my 80s corners on rails as I did mine before Xmas front and rear, with extended links SP in the rear as well, its night and day and everything is easily replaced re bushes., I can drive through corners like my STI. Anyways sic as work, the welds the welds beautiful work! Shauno happy that's all that matters🤘💪
