I shaved my head about 7 months ago and the amount of questioning people always asked me was insane. I would consistently get asked why I did I and my answer is also because I wanted to. But some people don't think that's a valid reason for reasons unknown to me. I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't rudely question or judge people for doing something they want to do. Even if they don't have a reason, leave them alone. Shaving my head was one of the most empowering things I've ever done in my life and I'm happy you get to experience it Stella! Hair is simply that, just hair. It isn't important and at the end of the day, it's on your body and you can do whatever you want with your own self.

I feel you I shaved my head a month ago best decision I've made in my life i feel like hair has held me back my whole life i was constantly worried about what my hair looks like and if its messed up. Most people dont say anything they just look kids tend to say things to their parents but they're just kids it doesnt bother me. Then there is the few people that complement it and it feels great. I had one lady in the grocery store that I see alot say what'd you do fry your hair I said no I just wanted to shave it she had nothing else to say. I wish people would understand hair is just hair it doesnt represent who we are. Let's rock our buzz cuts for life!! 😁

I absolutely love your approach to hair. I also cut my hair into a pixie about the time you did, coincidentally, and the response of so many people was asking why did I do it. Well, because I can, because I want to, because hair grows back and its fun to play with. Same goes for wearing wigs. I just love how you always show your hair so much love but makes sure that it doesn't define you. You're completely right: hair is an accessory. And you look AMAZING, btw.

Thank you so, so much for your words at the end. "Not having hair doesn't mean we are less." I try so, so hard to live by this and preach it, but when you rarely hear it come from others and the beauty standard is having hair, it can get...really hard. And I've been struggling with it on and off this year as I've lost the majority of my hair and shaved off the struggling remains. I've never really left any comments on your videos before, but they always bring me joy when I watch, as do you and your energy. Thank you for the reminder I'm still me with or without my hair - especially when I'm without hair. Sincerely, a woman with alopecia

That last speech, "Hair is an illusion, hair is an accessory that we add onto our outfits, hair doesn't mean anything other than the meaning that we give it."! Goodness, this empowers me in every way, and it makes me brave enough to shave my hair too. I get bored with my hair easily, and I've changed my hair colour 20 times this year while at the same time cutting it shorter and shorter. Now, I'm at a pixie cut but with a really long middle piece, and I think I'm just going to shave it all off. Thank you for giving me the encouragement, Stella! You look absolutely stunning with this buzzcut!

As a person who lost all of her hair at the age of 18 due to alopecia, I am so excited to see people who are willing to do anything they want to their hair! Because people are usually very careful and shy with their hair, not wanting to "ruin" it or alter their appearance too much. And there's nothing wrong with that, I completely understand that point of view. It's just that if I had any hair, I know for sure I would try doing at least something to it. Losing something really makes you appreciate it more, learned it the hard way. You look great, Stella!

I shaved my head in January kept a little on top, now I have a long pixie. It did it to get out of my comfort zone. I didn’t realize how much I depended on my hair for confidence. Now I just slick it back & call it a day, not even thinking about it. People who try to bully others for not looking like society’s idea of beauty are the ones who don’t love themselves. They are lonely narcissists who let others validate their worth. If you love yourself nobody else’s opinion really fucking matters. Everyone’s gonna try to shove their opinions down your throat but at the end of the day you have to live with yourself & not with the asshole who’s judging you!!!

As someone who looked at my hair as a safety blanket, I relied on it heavily to coexist with society. About a week ago I also made the decision to shave my head. It was the most freeing experience, that can only be described as liberation. Society looks down at shaved heads and has placed a label on the haircut. Now currently, I don’t fit any of the labels placed and that is beautiful. Stella, you now also have joined the party. I recommend this to anyone who has felt, or feels like they need a change. Liberation from societal standards is art in of itself. There is nothing like it. Snaps to you Stella, you have my respect, love. 💗

Giving myself a buzz was the most liberating thing I did. I'm one of the older gals (I'll be 53 in 3 weeks), and I had an undercut with long hair. I buzzed it a few more times since then. My hair had been thinning because of tying my hair too tight, and menopause. Proud to say that it is growing back thicker. You don't waste money on a million products, although I used ECO maximum styling gel, and a scarf wrap to lay my hair down (it doesn't lay flat down when buzzed). Try it. It's very liberating, and you get to shampoo as often as you like.

So. My thoughts. I disliked the mullet so much and was honestly a bit sad to see your more “feminine” hair style, disappear. I think I commented that I was so disappointed to see you go down that path, but I’m bias. It’s because I personally, don’t like the mullet cut, much. However, I now see why you did it. It’s okay that I didn’t like it, you’re happy you tried it and you’re happy with yourself now more than ever. That makes me so happy for you girl. I’ve been a follower for a long long time, and I’m determined to stick with you through this journey. You’ve given me the BALLS to try so many different things with my hair I never would have done without you, and this very video reflects why you have so many followers. You’re a huge inspiration.
