Nice shave. Face lathering is my usual routine. Using shave sticks like you did work but I rarely use mine. After I discovered shaving creams and soft soaps like yours, I found them easy to smear on the face (or apply to the brush) and face lather. Less mess and cleanup than bowl lathering. Hi Don. Wonderful shave as always. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Lol! I have a Tabac stick and use it in the same manner. However, I did try to bowl lather my stick and it worked very well. I just wet the brush and hit the top of the stick with it until I feel that I have enough to whip the lather in a bowl. Anyway, enjoy your week.

Nice looking shave Donald👍 Nice looking & handy razor holders. I don't mind the scent of Arko (or Derby) sticks, especially after they have been opened and aired for a bit. I have difficulty face lathering these days so for Arko/Derby sticks I squash the sticks into a mug and use it like a mug soap loading the brush & bowl lather, I no longer purchase other sticks and get pucks instead.🤟🤠👍

Excellent shave as usual Don. It's definitely better to face lather the Arko shave stick. RazoRock has some shave sticks of their soaps. Those razor stands look awesome.

Hi Don,I hope you're well?. Great shave great soap it just shows you can still get an awesome shave for very little money. I'm in northern England very cold always washed and shaved in cold water arko lathers up amazingly well I'm using it every day with my1951 Gillette ball end tech and yaqi synthetic brush and rapira super platinum blades one blade lasts 2 weeks, I use lemon cologne to disinfect then arko aftershave balm I'm clean fresh smell good all for little money. If you want anything from the UK you can't get where you are let me know I'll post to you, best wishes

Hi Don, I'm pleased your doing well my friend.The Gillette I have gives a mild but super efficient shave perfect for an everyday razor for me rapira platinum lux just last and last I bought them a few yrs ago cheap but excellent blades of course Russian they bought presses etc from Gillette so basically a Gillette blade.I have more expensive shaving supplies yet I always come back to arko for easy of use quickness and quality,also great travel soap takes up very little space and is light another use I've found it has is it works great when away if you want to wash something through wet the garment rub soap on it works a treat very versatile.Thank you for you videos I really enjoy them ,as I said if you can't get a hold of something your looking for please get in touch if I can locate it I'll post it to you never a problem,take good care of yourself my friend best wishes from your friend in England,ian.

Since I don't own a cartrige razor I would say no these was design with the DE razor in mind however if there is a call for cartridge stand holders we would do one. All the best my friend

I wish more artisans made shave sticks, it's my preferred method of lathering and they last much longer than creams. The sticks also take up less space than creams.

Hello there I've had the van der hagen razor for a little while that i got from my local walmart and i hate it I've cut myself twice now and it tugs at my stubble on my upper lip I'm curious if the leaf twig would be more comfortable i was using the van der hagen blades and the sample pack that the store sold

Jeremy, The Van Der Hagen razor is not the best razor in quality nor are the blades they provide. Still, you have to hold the razor at the correct angle and let it do the work don't press too hard. With that said I started with a muhle R89 Grande. also amazon has an assorted Double edge blade see which one works for you.
