Shavkat is such a great striker and looks more well rounded. Khamzat may have the power advantage, but come on. They're totally different. We don't know Khamzat, but Shavkat has showed us a good deal more of his skillset and dynamism. Can't wait to see Shavkat tearing through the division and getting wider recognition for his skillset. I see him heading to the belt with a perfect record.

@@Rifforecordz the hadith goes "if one of you were to fight his brother, he should avoid hitting the face" This doesn't include self defence at all even though some like to say it does using their own interpretation, in self defence even killing the aggressor is allowed if that is what it takes to defend yourself, if this action is allowed then hitting the face(which is a much lower degree)is certainly allowed. Ofcourse the ufc is not self defence in the sense that they choose to be in there, but the next point, is in islam a "brother" is a Muslim to another Muslim. Someone not of islam is not "brother" to you if you are Muslim. So when Muslims are fighting non Muslims, I don't think the rule applies. However, if shavkat and khamzat were to face each other, they shouldn't hit the face, because they are both Muslim and hence brothers.

This guy is one of the best fighters I have ever seen personally yet it is unbelievable that his name is literally never mentioned by other fighters or even the UFC top brass or any of their pundits have even mentioned him when this dude would put the lights out of 99.99999% of fighters in his division the exception being of course khamzat who to me seems unbeatable at the moment, the caveat being as long as he continues to train and doesn’t take his level for granted only person who can beat that dude is himself! It’s a shame if they have to fight each other before one of them is champion though..I DONOT agree with Dana’s comment ‘but for kamaru Colby would be champion’ you can not say that knowing these two guys are out there they would both sleep Colby inside 2 rounds IMO!

I think if you look at what I wrote last time I was insistent about the caveat being that he continues to ‘train and doesn’t take the level he’s at for granted only person who can beat that dude is himself’ which is almost exactly what the guy did against burns! As he admitted after the fight he thought burns was a push over he’d blast through, and that he was ‘not on his level’ Any man who hears how sure his opponent is of beating him will automatically assume the identity of the person who has been insulted and wronged and who is now hell bent on proving just how good and brave he is! Even a cowardly person, which burns is not, would get fired up listening to khamzat! His whole demeanour throughout the build up was disdain It’s only his heart that kept him from losing that fight! What proved khamzats disregard for burns beyond reasonable doubt for me was the fact that he’d been fasting for the last 7 days prior to fight night! I hate to bring the old chestnut up about khabib never fighting in Ramadan, why? His father was an elite level trainer and had been a highly decorated fighter in his own career, and it was his fathers experience that Ramadan was not a time to be thinking about fighting as it is a spiritual and self reflective time within the community and families alike. But almost incidentally it goes without saying that khabib a dad knew fasting from dusk till Dawn is not going to make you stronger before a world championship level fight. To me that was khamzat really showing utter indifference to who burns was as a fighter and as the no 2 ranked welterweight, effectively in the world considering the UFCs standing in the MMA world. Only by the grace of the almighty did he not lose that fight, if he had any less heart he would have lost! I sincerely pray learns to go into a fight and stick to the programme make sure you follow the plan and not make it up as you go along. If he hasn’t learnt the fact that he is not invincible & he needs to respect his opponents skill set, he will get beat by Colby & kamaru & if they fought rakhmonov would beat him too. If he’s learnt from this fight then the Colby and kamaru fights IMO will be easier than the burns fight that’s how much natural talent and conditioning this guy has but he has to learn & evolve to realise his true potential. Like I said before only man who can beat khamzat happens to be khamzat! 👍🏾
