Is Carrots is a winning player? that remains to be seen. I hope so for his followers sake but I hear he is doing a challenge for a few months now playing to post a new graph.

Actually watch both of you a lot. Carrot Corner is Pete Clarke who write The Grinder's Manual years ago that, at the time, was probably the best practical guide for online poker. He does a lot of coaching and has courses that go deep into GTO theory, but he also has other courses that show how/when to deviate from theory for exploitation. Overall I think he's one of the best coaches in the game right now because he seems solid on both GTO and exploitative play; but when he's playing he definitely leans more into the latter.

Good to see these type of videos. Very moderate comment on the play. Not very often to expect from this type of video. Love to see it. 1 small question, when you say 500/1K winner, what’s the definition. Is it winning without rakeback on GG or have an upwards graph on pokercraft which is pre-rake. I personally think it’s really hard to win without rakeback on GG 500/1K.
@LukePettit19 сағат бұрын
Definitely post rake, not the graph. People usually mean pre rake back when they say beating the game, but beating it post rake back is very good too.

9:21 SB threebets AcTc to 9bb vs 2.5x BT open from a 65bb starting stack, BT calls. Flop : 9c 6c 3h Carrot : "Checkjam seems right, check quickly!" check, check Turn : 9c 6c 3h Qh Carrot : "Uh, let's go bet and consider what to do on the river, hopefully this just gets through, I'll probably give up river with this combo I don't really care 'bout the blockers that much against this player" bet 60%, call River : 9c 6c 3h Qh 7o Carrot : "Yeahh, definitely what I wanna do." check, bet 110% allin, fold Checkjam flop is not a thing, check-call is the mainline, even if IP bet big which he might as a 65%stack-Japanese flag (which embodies simplicity, balance, and the importance of nature) Bet(-threebet) seems righter to me. Carrot’s intuitive turn play and river "plan" is spot on. Ko is the only pure follow-through, J and 8o are mostly barreled but occasionally give up.

Meanwhile, Uri : "So, this Ace Ten of Clubs hand I guess this is the first one which I don't like, I always try to get in the head of the guy making the videos and I think that carrot-man I guess as he's called is clearly hand-reading and he's thinking in terms of exploitative thought processes and he's giving his opponents not much credit so he must use terms like how elastic people are if a card is scary or not scary and he's playing.. this is an old school way of playing poker and it's definitely still an effective way to approach the game and he's mixing that in with some solver knowledge like he says I'm gonna, on the Jack-high board threebet pot I'm gonna bet big with eveything and I'm not gonna deviate yet so he's cleary aware of some theory, this is one, the Ace-Ten of Clubs in which I just feel like his thought process got kind of mixed up this is a vvery dangerous turn to bet with this type of hand strenght at this spr [3] because the board's double flush draw and you just get shoved on, so I would rate this a fairly baaad bet both from a theory and exploitative standpoint think a general heuristic you can add is when the board is super-duper wet be careful opening the action with draws that are strong enough to check-call because you risk getting blown off of your equity, also Ace-Ten is a bit of a hand strength that just doesnt benefit too much from betting here, in terms of getting worse [?] hands to fold, I think this is a bit misplayed, specifically, but that doesnt mean the principles and the thought processes are not okay for this guy." OOP is equity driven (here's a "general heuristic", you're welcome) and AT gets folds from AJ 88-. IP shoving vs the turn delay is rare.
