I was there from 1988-1992. It was a culture shock for me. But my entire tech school class went there, with the exception of two or three people, so I had friends when I got there. We had a lot of fun, but dorm life isn't always great. We did have a vanity in the bedroom, then shared a dual bathroom with the toilet and shower. Some people I met who lived in other dorms had one big bathroom on each floor, like we had in basic and tech school, so I felt lucky to live in a dorm where we a semi private bathroom situation. I loved the weather there. The first year, the heat and humidity were hard, but once I was acclimated, I really liked the warm weather.

There’s a small mall in the town. Anything worth going to is going to be at least an hour away.
