I tried 6-7 PC packs back when I was active, I wore a Titan Armor Systems (defunct) Mini MAP on my Eagle SPC, mostly to carry my Bayonet and PVS-14 and honestly that was the best solution for me, even though it was a pain sitting in vehicles and crawling around inside LAVs. It kept that required junk out of my way. Civilian side I've been rocking an AVS 1.0 Zip On for 7-8 years, usually I just run a 2L bladder and cram an arcteryx atom in there and its full, no compression straps or buckles to snag on. Sometimes my sling rips the flap up. PCPs are kind of a money sink, every design has inherent problems and you buy a new one just to see if the pros outweigh the cons until you decide you don't need one or a regular pack on a slickback carrier is better

It seems like a neat lil bag. But for the price you could get a btap from eagle or fs and probably get a bit more quality and functionality

The beavertail packs don't connect the same way, and the VEP hangs too low.

You buy this bag if you really like what Shaw puts out. If you don't want to do that and balk at the price then plenty of other viable cheaper options out there.

Lot of people complaining about prices that don’t know anything about manufacturing. This is a small company that’s not milking big daddy government. Sure, you can buy a less well thought out Eagle backpack for less. If you wanna be a normy, don’t complain about price. And I say this as a poor that wants Shane’s stuff but can’t afford it….. yet.

Curious of your thoughts on the Defense Mechanisms Recondite pack if you ever get your hands on one. Seems like it would be much more versatile and cheaper than this PCP thing. I've been leaning towards going with a MEPC + Recondite for a few months now.

@@EODFish The Recondite can be MOLLE'd in or shoulder and side straps for a quick access kinda like you describe here for the PCP. The Recondite doesn't have PALS on the sides though. So not exactly apples to apples. The Haley Flatpack is probably the best comparison. I think if the PCP had the same mounting options, and it was a bit cheaper, it'd be the winner for me.

I have the PCP and use it with the Qore Performance plate carrier. I absolutely love this pack. Very versatile and modular. Highly recommend it.

Any idea if theres a pack out there that meets this same design philosophy (self accessibility without the horribleness of getting crushed by assault pack straps) but with a larger capacity? As an infantry RTO i have to carry enough stuff with me to basically fill an entire USGI assault pack to the brim, i really like the PCP but it's nowhere near large enough for my needs.

We do use some of shaw gear, depending the designated work.🎉 Appreciate the review.👌 We have other options for +accesability and performance as for price depends on your unit and type of task you're going to perform .
