One of the problems with this prison vigilantism, is that you can't really trust the motives of the purpertrators. Take the first case, the catholic priest murdered by a white supremacists jailed for also murdering a gay man: was he actually upset that his cell mate was a CSAer, or did he think the guy was gay?

Case in point: what if this guy was put in a cell with a gay guy who'd committed some non-sexual crime - would that guy also be in danger? Gay men are significantly more at risk of prison violence than straight men, so it's not a trivial question.

there's this documentary that shows a few paedophiles that actively stay away from children who are in dire need of therapy. i'm pretty sure there's a program in germany that helps paedophiles. any form of rehabilitation benefits everyone but yeah if they're doing crazy shit then having your livelihood taken away is prolly a good idea

Unfortunate ideas being suggested here. It is not the same as an orientation, in fact that is an argument many creeps have been using in an attempt to insert themselves into the LGBT+ community. In fact it hurts the community, by pushing the idea of comparing orientation with paraphilia. These two things are not the same & shouldn't be in the same conversation. Paraphilias develop through exposure and can be cured through therapy. However there has never been a moment in history of orientation being changed through therapy and can exist regardless of experience

99% of sexual offenders have been sexually assaulted as a child or some point in their life that is why they think it is morally okay to do it. Same with abusers they have been beaten as a kid so they grow up and think its okay.
