It just warms my heart to see you youngsters rockin' out to my first favorite vocal group. I was 10 years old in '57. The Diamonds lifted me right off the planet. You gotta hear the original versions of "She Say (Oom Dooby Doom)" and "Walkin' Along" - pure pop to bop yer top off. LOVE this!

PS - the original record was recorded by The Gladiolas, with Maurice Williams ("Stay"), who wrote this one. Gotta check it out! Not as slick, but still very nice version.

PBS actually had a 3-hour special called "My Music," and it had a lot of those old "Doo-Wop" singing groups from the 1950s. Of course, some of them have passed away, being in their 80s and even 90s by now. If you can get a hold of this video, (You tube) it's so good.

It's so much fun watching you guys enjoy yourselves. The Diamonds were Dave Sommerville (lead singer), Ted Kolwalski (la la guy), Phil Levitt (deep voice guy), and Bill Reed. After "Little Darlin' their biggest hit was a song called "The Stroll" which was also a popular dance in the 1950's.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing the 50's oldies and keeping this music alive. Love that you enjoyed it as much as many of us still do. this was a special PBS Magic Moments Hits from the 50's production and the man responsible for getting all the singers back together on stage after all these years worked hard to bring them back to life. I can't provide the link, but there are many links to each of the singers. Love from Canada

Love your reaction to one of my favorite songs! I first heard Little Darlin' back in 1990 when I was 10 years old when my mom bought me a cassette of 1950s music. The lead singer is David Somerville & the bassman is Bill Reed. The guy with the high voice is Ted Kowalski & Phil Levitt is the 4th member. Sadly, Phil is the last surviving original member. Their music will always live on! They were from Toronto Canada, my hometown. Check out the original studio recording of Little Darlin'.

I grew up listening to this song along with tons of mid to late 1950’s songs at my grandparents house ever since I was a toddler. Sadly my grandfather is no longer alive, he passed away back in September unexpectedly to a stoke, but he introduced me to some great catchy timeless tunes. :’) (This was one of his top favorite songs.)
