When Debby switches up to 'Soon turned out - big pain in the ass' instead of heart of glass, it's overdubbed. Shame. It brings a bit of fun bite to the song.

I really love the fact that you guys never stop the music to discuss it, you just let the music play and react to it. That's how all reaction videos should do it. Talk about the song before and afterwards only, but don't stop the song to discuss it. These are reaction videos after all, stopping the music breaks the vibe and tone of the moment. Good job guys.

The instrument you asked about is called a voice box you can use it to talk or make different sounds some of them fit into your mouth so you can't see the cord Blondie was very popular in the 70's and the 80's with big hits, and they started as a punk band and still going. Debbie Harry was also a PLAYBOY BUNNY 🐰at one time. Love them 💕 MUCH love to you and your family 💕Brandi Modrak 💕❤💙

I remember when this came out, dancing to it. Glad you guys found it and liked it! Here's a little trivia for ya, kids! The words in the last verse are not, "Once I had a love and it was a gas, soon turned out had a heart of glass". The actual lyrics were, "Once I had a love and it was a gas, soon turned out it was a pain in the ass". They changed it for radio play and this video. Oh, and her name is Debbie Harry. Her, Grace Jones, and Dale Bozzio were pretty much the rulers of pop and punk back in that time. Without them, there would never have been a Madonna, or Lady Gaga.

They came up through CBGB’s in New York, they were making fun of themselves in this video for the disco sound - they were not a disco band, that’s why he’s checking his hair in the disco ball. Try ‘Call Me’ which was their biggest hit, it was from the soundtrack of the movie ‘American Gigolo’, it’s about call girls/guys - escorts.

Blondie (Deborah Harry) sang at COACHELLA 2023. Blondie is a BEAST! They were a punk rock band first!!! Blondie put rap on the map. Yes.. I said rap. Punk to Disco to Rap. She has the very first number 1 RAP song in music history NOT Sugar Hill Gang. She also had the first rap video/song on MTV when MTV was only rock music.. The hit rap song by her is called Rapture. She is well known in the black community. Shes a trendsetter and her blonde and black hairstyle with the shag cut is seen on women EVERYWHERE today. Her posters and images are a fashion influence across the globe and are seen in beauty salons and fashion boutiqes all over the world. She was also voted most beautiful woman in the world. Did you know when she lived here in the East Village NYC (mostly punk rockers lived in that area back tgen) she escaped a serial killer? Jumped out of his car at a red light. She will be 80 next year and is STILL seriously beautiful and still tours! Like I said...A BEAST! They didnt have her on at Coachella for nothing.

They dubbed over the last section for the American audience. The original working title was "Pain the Arse" and in Europe, she did sing that in the end but they put "Heart of Glass over it" here. She was a Punk icon and in her 30s at this time and looked so young. She is nearly 80 now and still beautiful. She stopped for several years at the height of the band's fame to look after her partner, the guitarist who was seriously ill. But she is still performing now and had a comeback a couple of decades after with 'Maria'. Other great songs are 'Call Me', 'Sunday Girl' 'One Way or Another', 'The Tide is High' (cover of an old 60s Ska hit).

This may have been mentioned before, but a bit of trivia. The original lyric wasn't "Heart of glass". The original was "Soon found out, it was a PITA". At the time, the FCC would never have allowed this on commercial radio, hence the change Actually, PITA makes a lot more sense.

Just happened on to your channel and was happy to hear how much you enjoyed Blondie. There's only one Debbie Harry, there was no mold. I guess you could say she fit into the "New Wave Era," of the '80's, and would be worth your looking into. There was some great music then, but in the 90's pop music died, I think, everything sounded the same, and I don't think it ever recovered. All of the great Rock music is pre-90's or was influenced by it. You could spend the remainder of your life just focused on that period and I haven't even mentioned the Rythm & Blues from that time. You're a great couple. Gotta go.
